Watson Keeps Winning Despite Move

Level 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

A table move has not slowed down Mike Watson at all and the Canadian has been using his sizable stack like a club to beat down on the other players.

Watson is now sitting in the number three seat between Alexandros Kolonias in seat two and Nick Petrangelo in seat five and opened the action with a raise to 6,000 from the cutoff with Petrangelo calling the button and David Peters calling from the big blind.

Peters checked the {3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop and Watson led out for 9,000 before Petrangelo three-bet to 23,000 from the button.

After Peters bowed out Watson made the call taking the action heads-up to the {2-Clubs} turn. Watson checked and Petrangelo checked it right back to take things to the {9-Diamonds} river. The action went check, check once again and Petrangelo rolled over {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} but was behind to Watson’s {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated by Nick Petrangelo

Level 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Sam Greenwood got the last of his chips in with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} up against the {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} of Nick Petrangelo. The {3-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} runout wasn't all too exciting and Greenwood exited the tournament area.

With now just 10 players remaining, Mike Watson has moved tables to balance.

Watson Ups Aggression to Take Lead

Level 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Mike Watson has been pretty active so far this level as the aggressor in three separate consecutive hands, winning all without showdown.

The first saw Watson raise it up to 6,000 from the button with Fedor Holz electing to three-bet from the big blind to 24,500. Watson took his time before four-betting to 60,000, which was enough to get Holz to lay it down.

The second hand saw Watson make it 6,000 from the cutoff with both Holz and Steffen Sontheimer making the call from the small and big blind respectively.

All three players check the {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop and after checks from Holz and Sontheimer on the {q-Clubs} turn Watson’s 10,000 delayed continuation bet was enough to take it down.

The third hand saw Sam Trickett open to 5,500 from under the gun only to see Watson three-bet to16,500 from under the gun plus one. Trickett quickly four-bet to 42,000 but just as quickly folded when Watson five-bet shoved.

All that action saw Watson edge slightly in front of Holz to snag the chip lead.

Ben Tollerene Eliminated by Alexandros Kolonias

Level 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Ben Tollerene
Ben Tollerene

Ben Tollerene got his last 58,700 in before the flop from the hijack up against big blind Alexandros Kolonias.

Tollerene was in excellent position to double up as he dominated with {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} against the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} of Kolonias.

The {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades} flop, however, wasn't the flop Tollerene was hoping for and the {5-Clubs} on the turn and {9-Spades} on the river denied him a comeback.
