Pezzaniti Eliminates Astapau

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Anton Astapau raised to 12,000 from under the gun before Frank Pezzaniti bumped it up to 25,000 from the small blind. Astapau called and both players watched the flop come down {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Both players checked before the {6-Diamonds} dropped on the turn. Pezzaniti immediately slid out a stack of 5,000-chips totalling a 100,000 bet and Astapau followed moving all in for 131,000. Pezzaniti snap-called.

Pezzaniti: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Astapau: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Pezzaniti had flopped the nut flush and had Astapau drawing to the case ace. That wouldn't come as the {k-Clubs} completed the board sending the Belarusian pro to the rail just before third break of the day.

Seidel Stop and Go Results in Bust

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Erik Seidel found himself on the short stack after losing a race with {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} against the {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} of Jai Kemp to drop to 16,000.

Seidel’s remaining chips found their way into the middle of the table shortly afterward after Chao Duan opened the action to 9,000 from early position with Erik Seidel making the call from the big blind.

The flop came down {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Seidel moved all in for his last 7,000 and Duan called almost instantly.

Seidel had hit the flop holding {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} but was trailing to Duan’s {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The {3-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river provided Seidel with no help and his Aussie Millions Main Event run comes to an end. Just 85 players now remain with 80 getting paid.

Tilly Lets It Go

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jennifer Tilly opened to 10,500 on the button before the player in the small blind three-bet to 36,000. That wasn’t enough for Tilly who came back over the top with a four-bet to 90,500.

The small blind then moved all in for exactly another 90,500 more and Tilly got up from her seat to calculate her pot odds out loud.

“I’m pretty sure it’s not a race,” said Tilly.

“I’ll show if you fold,” the small blind replied, “I’ll show you one.”

Tilly agonized over the decision before folding and showing the {a-Clubs}. She was shown the {a-Spades} in return and left to wonder if she’d made the right decision.

Small One For Tollerene

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ben Tollerene is still plugging away here in the main event and the US pro has just taken down a small pot against Michael Weiss to improve his chances of going the distance.

Pre-flop it was Weiss who was the aggressor, opening for 9,000 and Tollerene chose to defend his big blind and made the call.

That was pretty much it for the action in the hand with both players checking the {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop, the {q-Spades} turn and the {8-Hearts} river. Weiss turned over pocket sixes but this was not enough to beat Tollerene’s {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and raked in the pot to climb to 250,000 while Weiss dropped to 170,000.

Suck, Resuck

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel, down to just 30,000, got his chips in before the flop with a powerhouse of a hand: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}. Artur Koren, who could spare the measly 30,000, had {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Seidel was in excellent position to double up with 90 players left and 80 paid, but the flop wasn't good for him: {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Seidel, now on the brink of busting 10 before the money, didn't move an inch and seemed as tranquil as ever.

Rightfully so, it turned out. After {7-Hearts} hit the turn, the {2-Hearts} on the river brought salvation for the seasoned pro.

Holz Hits Flush

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Fedor Holz is steadily building a sizeable stack and has just padded it out still further at the expense of a tablemate.

Pre-flop a player in middle position opened the action with a raise to 10,000 and Holz made the call from the button.

The initial raiser continuation bet 11,000 on a flop of {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} with Holz making the call to bring the action to the {k-Clubs} turn, which completed a possible club flush.

This slowed down Holz’s opponent who checked the action over to the German player. Holz mulled it over and reached for chips, counting out a raise to 24,000, which his opponent called fairly swiftly.

The {7-Diamonds} did not change anything and Holz’s opponent checked again. Holz fired for 47,000, sending his opponent deep into the think tank for a good couple of minutes but he did eventually call, asking Holz if he had the flush.

He did, turning over {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} to scoop in a decent sized pot and climb to 530,000.

Burns Gets Value

Kahle Burns
Kahle Burns

The flop read {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Kahle Burns checked in the big blind before Jason Mo checked behind in the cutoff. The {4-Hearts} fell on the turn and Burns took the betting lead, firing for 16,500.

Mo made the call and the {8-Spades} arrived on the river.

Burns made it 18,500 to go and Mo reached for a call before pausing to deliberate. He held the calling chips in his hand for about a minute before finally putting them into the pot. Burns showed {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a rivered two pair and that was good enough to take it down.
