Holz Pressures Wright

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

On a monochrome flop of {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} Fedor Holz (big blind) and Nicholas Wright (button) both checked to see the {8-Clubs} arrive on the turn.

Holz then loaded up and fired for 155,000, which was called by Wright before the {a-Diamonds} river.

Holz reached deeper and made it 340,000 on the end. Despite cutting out a call and riffling the chips in his hand while deliberating, Wright ultimately let it go and the pot was pushed to Holz.

Vijayaram Wins Big Against Aristidou

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Peter Aristidou raised to 65,000 from the button and was called by Shurane Vijayaram in the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Vijayaram check-called a continuation bet totalling 60,000 from Aristidou.

The turn brought the {8-Diamonds} and Vijayaram checked once more. Aristidou didn't take to long to slide out another 85,000. Vijayaram called.

The {j-Spades} completed the board and Vijayaram immediately tossed out 300,000. Aristidou went into the tank for a few minutes then called.

Vijayaram then flipped over his {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} confidently for two pair which was enough to take down the pot as Aristidou mucked his hand.

Seth Davies Eliminated in 12th Place (AUD$115,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Seth Davies
Seth Davies

A blind on blind battle between Seth Davies (small blind) and Jeff Rossiter (big blind) resulted in the elimination of Seth Davies. We missed the preflop betting but there looked to be just over 100k in the pot when we caught the action on a {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop.

Davies checked over to Rossiter, who fired out a 55,000 bet and Davies chewed over his decision under the scrutiny of Rossiter’s laser-eyed stare and eventually made the call.

The {10-Hearts} turn brought a second check from Davies and an impassive Rossiter reached for the dark blue 25k chips and slid out a raise of 190,000. The intensity of Rossiter’s stare down seemed to increase with his bet size but Davies was not deterred and called for a second time.

The {5-Diamonds} river brought a third and final check from Davies and Rossiter quickly pushed out a 500,000 bet – Davies had around 480,000 behind so this had him covered and he went deep into the tank but eventually threw in the calling chips.

Rossiter rolled over {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and Davies mucked his hand face down, got up and left the table meaning we are now down to our final 11 players.

Marc MacDonnell Eliminated in 13th Place (AUD$80,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Marc MacDonnell
Marc MacDonnell

It folded around to Marc MacDonnell on the button and he moved his last 345,000 into the middle. Fedor Holz folded the small blind but Tobias Hausen called it off from the big blind.

MacDonnell: {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Hausen: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

MacDonnell needed help but it would never come as the community cards fell {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. He departs in 13th place as Hausen climbs to 1.5 million.

Nino Marotta Eliminated in 14th place (AUD$80,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Nino Marotta
Nino Marotta

Over on the feature table, a huge hand developed between Nino Marotta and Shurane Vijayaram that resulted in Marotta’s unceremonious exit.

We caught the action on the turn but according to the feature table camera crew, betting remained fairly light preflop and on the flop with all the chips going in on the turn.

On a board reading {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} Marotta and Vijayaram became embroiled in a raising war with Vijayaram four-bet jamming all in and Marotta making the call.

Shurane Vijayaram: {6-Spades}{8-Spades}
Nino Marotta: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

While he may have had the best starting hand in hold’em a devastated looking Marotta found himself drawing to the deck's two remaining aces against Vijayaram’s turned gutshot straight.

However, the {2-Spades} river brought Marotta no help and he headed for the rail.

Olson Doubles Through Rossiter

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Jeff Rossiter raised to 60,000 from the cutoff before David Olson moved all in for 295,000 from the small blind. Rossiter snap-called after Mustapha Kanit folded his big blind.

Olson: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Rossiter: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to see Olson improve to a set of fives on the turn and fade a three on the river to take down the pot and double to over 600,000 in chips

Scott Eskenazi Eliminated in 15th Place (AUD$80,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Scott Eskenazi
Scott Eskenazi

Scott Eskenazi was the next to fall after he lost a flip to Tobias Hausen.

Fedor Holz opened to the action with a button raise to 70,000 before Eskenazi three-bet jammed for 480,000 from the small blind. Hausen made the call in the big blind and with Holz out of the way they tabled their cards.

Eskenazi: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Hausen: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} run out failed to help Eskenazi and he was sent packing in 15th place.

Haoran Zhang Eliminated in 16th Place (AUD$80,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Haoran Zhang - Fedor Holz
Haoran Zhang - Fedor Holz

It folded around to Haoran Zhang in the small blind and he moved all in for 480,000. Fedor Holz woke up with queens in the big blind and called it off to put Zhang at risk.

Zhang: {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Holz: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Zhang undoubtedly liked the {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop where he picked up a flush draw, but failing to find a heart or a king on the {4-Spades} turn or {9-Diamonds} river he departed in 16th place.

Rossiter Rising

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Jeff Rossiter raised to 75,000 from the button and was called by David Olson in the big blind.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Olson check-called a continuation bet totalling 45,000.

Both players checked the {k-Diamonds} on the turn before the {10-Spades} completed the board.

Olson thought for a minute then slid out a bet of 125,000. Rossiter snap called and watched as Olson tabled {k-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair. Rossiter then turned over his {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for a straight and took down the pot.

Aldemir Gets There

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

From first position, Koray Aldemir raised to 65,000. His neighbor Shurane Vijayaram three-bet to 165,000 and Aldemir called once action had folded to him.

Aldemir check-called 150,000 on the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop before both players checked the {Q-Diamonds} on the turn. The river {K-Diamonds} had Aldemir bet 300,000 and Vijayaram called after some time in the tank.

Aldemir showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Vijayaram mucked. Chip counts were hard to tell from the rail, so the ones underneath are estimates:
