Small Pots

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit raised to 55,000 from the small blind and big blind Nicholas Wright called. Kanit bet 65,000 on {2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Wright called. Both players then checked the {10-Diamonds} on the turn and {3-Diamonds} on the river. Wright showed {K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for the second nuts and Kanit jokingly showed the {8-Clubs} before mucking.

Koren Doubles

Artur Koren
Artur Koren

Artur Koren was all in for 353,000 up against Shurane Vijayaram. Koren showed {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was up against {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

The {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop was good for Koren but things got tricky with the {J-Hearts} on the turn. The river {5-Hearts} was a good card for Koren, however, and he doubled up.

Joseph Doubles Through Aldemir

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jeremy Joseph raised to 42,000 from under the gun and was called by Peter Aristidou on the button. Koray Aldemir was in the small blind and reraised to 145,000 as the decision fell back on Joseph. He went into the tank for almost five-minute before the clock was called on him by Aldemir.

The tournament director came over and gave the instructions that he would start his 60-second countdown only for Joseph to then move all in for 351,000.

"He didn't even take his full minute," joked Aristidou. "Now I'll take 10 minutes and then you can give me a minute too," he added, before releasing his hand to the muck.

Aldemir then paused for a moment and called.

Joseph: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Aldemir: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Joseph was at risked and outkicked until the board ran out {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} giving him an unbeatable flush on the turn and the winning hand.

Aldemir could only shake his head in disappointment as he watched the large pot get moved to his opponent.

Dixon Doubles Through Zhang

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Nicholas Dixon moved all in preflop from the button for his last 133,000 and small blind Haoran Zhang asked for a count before making the call.

Dixon is the at-risk player, his {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} trailing to Zhang’s {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} but the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop gave the Australian player a flush draw to go with his two live cards.

The {q-Clubs} river saw Dixon complete his flush with the river coming down a meaningless {6-Clubs} to grant the Aussie the double up. Dixon climbed to 321,000 while Zhang dropped to 697,000.

Kanit's Small Bluff Fails

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Nicholas Wright opened to 45,000 under the gun and big blind Mustapha Kanit called. Kanit check-called a 55,000 continuation bet on the {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}flop before they both checked the {K-Clubs} on the turn. The river came the {7-Spades} and Kanit bet 140,000. Wrigth tanked for a fair bit before he called. Kanit showed {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for the missed straight draw, Wright took it down with the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

Matthew Wakeman Eliminated in 22nd Place (AUD$60,000)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Matthew Wakeman
Matthew Wakeman

The action folded around to Matthew Wakeman in the cutoff and he moved all in for 292,000. It got to Fedor Holz in the small blind and he asked for a count. The bet was for a huge percentage of Holz’s stack but after some deliberation he committed the chips to put Wakeman at risk.

Wakeman: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Holz: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Wakeman was behind but the {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop arrived to give him a flush draw and a glimmer of hope. The {3-Spades} turn changed nothing and the {8-Hearts} river also bricked off to see Wakeman eliminated and Holz essentially doubling up.

William Haughey Eliminated in 23rd Place (AUD$60,000)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
William Haughey
William Haughey

Jeff Rossiter was first to act and opened for 45,000, followed by William Haughey three-betting to 117,000 with about 500,000 behind. Action folded around to Rossiter and he moved all in. Haughey called.

William Haughey: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Jeff Rossiter: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} flop was an interesting one; Haughey jumped into the lead but he wasn't home-safe just yet.

The {8-Hearts} on the turn gave Rossiter a straight and Haughey needed the board to pair to stay alive. The river didn't fill up Haughey as the meaningless {A-Spades} came off.

William Haughey eliminated from the 2017 Aussie Millions Main Event.

Rossiter Doubles Through Crivell

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The first hand back from break, Jeff Rossiter opened for 40,000 under the gun. His neighbor Patrick Crivell three-bet to 110,000 and the action folded around to Rossiter who called.

Both checked the {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{K-Hearts} flop before the {Q-Diamonds} hit the turn. Rossiter bet 135,000 and Crivell called.

The {Q-Clubs} completed the board and Rossiter checked with 280,000 behind. Crivell moved all in and Rossiter beat him into the pot.

Crivell showed {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} so the pot went to Rossiter who had tabled {A-Spades}{J-Spades}.

Nick Georgoulas
Nick Georgoulas

In the first hand back from the break Nick Georgoulas moved all in for 470,000 from under the gun. The action folded to Nino Marotta in the cutoff who thought about his decision for a minute then called. The rest of the table folded before both players revealed their cards.

Marotta: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Georgoulas: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} to see Georgoulas unable to improve with his underpair and he was sent to the rail in 24th place.
