Kornuth Faces a Decision Against Heath

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Ben Heath limped in the small blind and Kornuth, with a stack of around 30,000, raised to 4,200. Heath quickly bet enough to cover his opponent.

"Since I probably have no skill edge," said Kornuth, "I should probably just blast it in..."

Eventually, and having decided against "blasting it in," Kornuth folded.

"It is a Brutal Game"

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Vojtech Ruzicka
Vojtech Ruzicka

Within two hands, the stack of Vojtech Ruzicka has been reduced to zero and the Czech left the table with the words "it is a brutal game." According to Danny Tang, he raised and one player called. Ruzicka three-bet and Tang four-bet shoved with {K-}{Q-} to get there against the {A-}{K-} of Ruzicka.

Then, Sam Higgs four-bet shoved into Ruzicka to see the former November Niner call with the {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Higgs only had the {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} but the board came {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{K-Spades}{A-Clubs} to improve Higgs to aces and treys.

Updated Chip Counts

Gierse Flips Well to Bust Heskin

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Dave Heskin had won his entry to the $25,000 Challenge through a $2,800 Satellite and built a stack early on. However, that all came to a crashing end right now. The button raised to 2,500 and Heskin three-bet to 7,000 in the small blind. Marius Gierse four-bet to 17,000 and called the shove of Heskin for around 57,000.

Dave Heskin: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Marius Gierse: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and Gierse rivered the ace to bust Heskin.

Kornuth Doubles Through Saout

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

"My man!" said Chance Kornuth, as he counted out his chips for a double up. He had gotten it in with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} against the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Antoine Saout.

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Kornuth doubled his 21,500 stack.

Burns Shoots to the Top

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Kahle Burns
Kahle Burns

Winfred Yu lost a flip with pocket threes against the ace-nine of Jack Salter after the latter paired the nine on the flop and an ace on the turn.

Soon after it would be Salter who joined the rail as well, and Manig Loeser busted on his second bullet as well.

Salter opened the action with a raise to 3,000 in the cutoff and big stack Kahle Burns three-bet out of the small blind to 11,200. Salter four-bet to 23,000 and, once Burns had five-bet to 125,000, the Brit called all in for around 75,000.

Jack Salter: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Kahle Burns: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and that was it for Salter, at least for now.

Spindler Eliminated by Yotsushika

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Benny Spindler was getting to his feet with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} in front of him on a {10-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades} board.

His opponent was Kazuhiko Yotsushika who held {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for trip eights, sending the German to the rail.

Manig Loeser Eliminated on First Bullet

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

A short-stacked Manig Loeser defended his big blind against Julius Colman and got it in with the {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a pair and a gutshot. Colman had the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and held up to eliminate Loeser, who went straight to the cashier for bullet number two.

Alex Foxen claimed the chips of a short stack and a cold-caller after three-bet shoving to isolate out of the big blind. The cold-caller folded and the player at risk turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Foxen had that crushed with {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and saw the board run out {Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades}.
