Hopkins Triples Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

According to Antoine Saout, action at his table opened with a raise by James Hopkins in the hijack before the cutoff made it 3,500. A player on the button called and Hopkins shoved all in for 21,900. The cutoff shipped as well for 22,475, and the player on the button was in the tank. Finally, he put his chips in as well.

James Hopkins: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Cutoff: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Button: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Hopkins had the best of it but saw paint right away in the window. Thankfully for him, it was the {k-Hearts} followed by {4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The {10-Spades} turn flipped the outs held by Hopkins' opponents, but the river was a harmless {7-Diamonds}.

Wilson Cracks Aces to Double

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

In a battle of the blinds a pot of 9,300 emerged until the {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the small blind bet 4,600. Troy Wilson in the big blind moved all in for 24,400 and the small blind gave it some thought before calling with the far superior stack.

Troy Wilson: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Small blind: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The {Q-Clubs} on the turn brought an additional sweat, but a blank {6-Spades} on the river let Wilson double.

Updated Chip Counts; Young Soaring

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Ana Marquez opened to 1,000. Paul Michaelis three-bet to 3,900 and Rory Young four-bet to 10,000, which forced both players out.

Young showed {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}. "The nizzles!" he said with a grin. "I thought about flatting, but then I thought: 'Nah!'"

"I had one over," said Michaelis.

"Me too," said Marquez.

Setback for Tam after Tangling with Pettersson

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Picking up the action on a flop of {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Jan Pettersson checked and called a bet of David Tam for 2,050 before the {Q-Clubs} appeared on the turn. Pettersson checked once more and Tam made it 3,600 to go, which the Aussie called.

The {10-Clubs} on the river completed a possible back door flush and Pettersson checked. Tam fired a third barrel for 3,000 and faced a check-raise to 8,600 by Pettersson almost immediately. A quick call followed and Pettersson showed the {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the nut flush to scoop a decent pot.

While the hand played out, Tom Alner sat down in the one seat and will be joining the action shortly.

Foxen Can't Shake Wysocki

Szymon Wysocki
Szymon Wysocki

On a {6-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{K-Clubs} flop, Szymon Wysocki checked from the big blind to Alex Foxen on the button, who bet 1,300. Wysocki quickly called the bet. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn got checked by both players.

Foxen tried to take it with a 3,200 bet on the {5-Hearts} river but Wysocki wasn't having any of it and called with {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Foxen couldn't muster up any better and handed over the chips.

Shane Warne
Shane Warne

Shane Warne limped from early position. The cutoff raised to 1,100 and the big blind flat-called. Warne then limp-jammed for 2,850. The cutoff called and the big blind folded.

Shane Warne: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Cutoff: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

There was a King on the flop as the board ran out {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} giving Warne the full double-up.
