O'Grady Among Today's Hopefuls

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With more than half a million in cashes, Michael O'Grady is among the more notable names in Australia and the vast majority of his cashes come from home soil, in either Sydney or Melbourne. Yesterday, O'Grady finished 8th in the Accumulator Event after his kings were cracked by pocket queens and he collected A$16,900 for his efforts.

The start into Day 1b of O'Grady hasn't been great just yet as his stack was cut down in almost half, however that's still plenty of big blinds in the second level of the day.

We found Thomas Muehloecker all in for his final 7,625 in the cutoff. The board read {2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and his opponent in the hijack was thinking things over. After about 30 seconds, he tossed in calling chips but sent his cards muckward when Muehloecker revealed {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

De Cesare Chops With Kings

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

A big pot of more than 15,000 had already been built to the {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Amanda De Cesare faced a bet of 7,000. De Cesare moved all in for 22,500 and her opponent took a long time before announcing the call. As soon as the cards were tabled, both were relieved as De Cesare with {K-Clubs}{k-Spades} and her opponent with {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} were guaranteed half of the pot already, making the {A-Diamonds} river a formality.

Adam Owen took a big pot off Antoine Saout, calling a river bet of about 9,000 with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} in a button-versus-blind battle with {5-Spades}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts} on the board.

The next hand, Owen opened for 500 in the cutoff and Saout made it 1,600 in the small blind. Owen peeled to see a {10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. He called 2,000. On the {5-Clubs} turn, he called another 3,100. The river was a {9-Hearts} and Saout piled in 17,650 most of his stack. Owen set him in for the last 7,000 or so and Saout splashed in calling chips since he had {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for the nuts. Owen showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.
