Benoit Knocks Out Sinclair

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

Benjamin Benoit and Jack Sinclair were seated next to each other today and had already clashed in multiple pots. Their latest and final confrontation left the Brit empty-handed and moved Benoit up to the 100k mark.

In a button against small blind confrontation, Benoit (SB) bet 3,100 on an {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop. Sinclair raised to 9,000, Benoit three-bet to 26,100, Sinclair shoved all in and Benoit called to create a pot of over 90k. Benoit had Sinclair barely covered.

Jack Sinclair: {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Benjamin Benoit: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The two hands were nearly identical in equity, with Benoit as a small mathematical favorite. Sinclair held the lead on the flop but needed to dodge a plethora of bad cards. The {3-Hearts} on the turn improved the Frenchman to a flush and the {K-Hearts} on the river ended it for Sinclair.

Graner Calls Down Timoshenko

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a turn of {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} Yevgeniy Timoshenko bet 750 and Stephen Graner called. The river was the {4-Clubs} and Timoshenko continued for 4,000. Graner called and Timoshenko was forced to turned over {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for nine-high.

Graner showed {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a rivered flush and took down the pot.

"The overbet only works for you, huh?" Timoshenko said to an opponent as he counted out the rest of his chips.

The Century Mark

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Szymon Wysocki was in the big blind when we got to his table and {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} was on the felt. A player under the gun had bet about 2,500 and Wysocki put in a raise to 11,500. His opponent tanked a bit and folded, and Wysocki looks to possibly be the first player to hit 100,000.

Young Hits A Set, Soars

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Rory Young has moved up to 78,000, courtesy of a flopped set of fours. On a {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, Young had 4,000 in front of him and his opponent had moved all in for 31,250.

Young, holding {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, took over two minutes and tried to get a read on his opponent, who didn't respond to his antics. Eventually, Young committed the call and was miles ahead against his opponent's {A-Spades}{6-Spades}.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} to improve the straight draw but the {Q-Diamonds} on the river wasn't one of the outs. While Young was stacking up the chips, table mates asked Young about his thought process in the hand. Young admitted he was very close to folding.

Gierse Eliminated by Lakemeier

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Jens Lakemeier got his remaining 4,000 chips in the middle with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} against the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} of an opponent. Lakemeier flopped a set on {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Spades} but the turn {7-Clubs} and river {8-Hearts} gave both players a straight.

Next hand he moved all in and Jens Lakemeier called in the next position. The remaining players all folded.

Marius Gierse: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Jens Lakemeier: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board bricked out for Gierse coming {q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs} and he was eliminated.

The Warne Family Battles at the Table

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Michael O'Grady's talking game isn't limited to just during hands. He called over to Shane Warne at a neighbouring table.

"Hey Shane, did you give him any coaching?" he said, pointing at Jackson Warne, Shane's son, seated at O'Grady's table.

"He coaches me!" replied Warne senior, "He's too good!"
