Armstrong Runs Riot

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Lee Armstrong has been involved in plenty of hands in order to run up his stack and the latest one saw him jam the river of a completed board of {Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. With some 100,000 already in the middle, Armstrong's shove was for 78,100 and Ken Demlakian was in the think tank after having asked for a count. Ultimately, Demlakian folded the {Q-Spades} face up and Armstrong raked in the pot.

Holz Trending Back Up

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Tristan Bain opened to 4,500 in the hijack and got action from Fedor Holz on his left, but it was aggressive action in the form of about 13,000. Bain peeled and they saw a {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop. Bain check-called a small bet of 7,100. Both checked the the {3-Clubs} turn, bringing a {q-Hearts} river. Bain bet 16,500 and Holz considered awhile before softly announcing all in.

So soft was the all in that Jesse Sylvia seemed to be the only one to hear it, but Holz quickly cut his stack into an easily countable formation. Bain folded.

Burns Drags A Large One Off Koren

Kahle Burns
Kahle Burns

A massive hand between Kahle Burns and Artur Koren had already resulted in a pot of around 150,000 when the river was dealt. The board read {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and Australian Poker Young Achiever Award winner Burns shoved all in for 82,500 total.

Koren went deep into the tank but couldn't find a call, forcing him to surrender the sizable pot to Burns.

Czuczor Halved

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We found Marton Czuczor shoving from the big blind against an early opener, who snap-called with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Czuczor was dominated with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and had to fork over 52,000 when the runout didn't bring him a win.

Hopkins Hands Over to Furneri After King-High Bluff

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

James Hopkins check-called a bet of 3,800 from Alessandro Furneri on the {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop and both players checked the {9-Spades} turn. The river was the {7-Hearts} and Hopkins bet 10,500, with Furneri calling quickly.

Hopkins showed {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a missed gutshot straight draw and king-high, while Furneri showed down the far more attractive {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

"Don't write that one down," Hopkins implored. He still sits on a healthy stack with three quarters of an hour left in the day.

Sick Hand Sees Ho Leave a Devastated Player Busted

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Duy Ho
Duy Ho

Duy Ho opened for 5,000 and got one caller before a player in the cutoff made it 26,000. Ho came back with 100,000, and the cutoff shoved all in. Ho double-checked his cards and snap-called.

Ho: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Cutoff: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The flop and turn came {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} but the river was the {q-Hearts}. As soon as it fell, the player in the cutoff slammed his down on the felt and shot out of his chair in disbelief. Tournament supervisors began verifying stacks since the hand was so massive.

"Shit," the player in the cutoff muttered breathlessly with his hands on his head. "Oh, shit."

Ho had about 230,000 and that covered the 200,000 of his foe. He swept up the monstrous pot.

Plenty of Action on Table 7

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Ari Engel made it 4,600 to go and Duncan Packington defended his big blind to check-fold a flop of {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} to a continuation bet.

Soon after, Martin Finger took on Packington on a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} only for the Aussie to check-raise from 6,500 to 16,000. Engel folded, as did Finger after brief consideration.

On a three-way flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, Peter Aristidou bet 7,000 and Packington was the only caller. The {7-Diamonds} turn went check, check, and Aristidou check-called a bet of 20,000 by Packington on the {10-Spades} river. Aristidou was shown the {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} for a straight and mucked.

Everyone Loves A Chopped Pot?

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Fedor Holz opened to 4,100 from under the gun and received no less than four callers. The {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} flop got checked to Eddie Puia on the button, who bet 6,000. Holz check-called, the other players folded.

The {6-Diamonds} on the turn and {K-Clubs} on the river got checked by both players. Holz showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for jack-high, which still netted him half the pot as Puia tabled {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for another jack-high.
