2018 Final Tablist Schumacher Eliminated

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Johan Schumacher
Johan Schumacher

2018 Aussie Millions Main Event seventh-place finisher Johan Schumacher has been eliminated from this year's Main Event. Schumacher took home AU$235,000 last year, but won't be adding to it after shoving 24 big blinds from the button with {6-}{6-} into the small blind's {j-}{j-}.

"I was running...just bad," Schumacher explained shortly after his elimination. "It was easy hands every time, nothing really complicated bit it was set over set, straight against better straight. Bad spots.

"It just went down, down, down. Nothing really hard. It's ok, I have two days off then I go again. That's poker!"

Gupta Chips Up

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

With 800 chips each invested on the {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, a trio of players headed to the {J-Spades} turn and Vikrant Gupta bet 2,200. Only Teresa-Ann Natoli called, while Manny Stavropoulos got out of the way.

Natoli then bet the {A-Spades} river for 1,900 and Gupta was a non-believer. Natoli showed {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Gupta won the pot with {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the same pair and better kicker.

The same table also features Maria McAlpin and Paul-Francois Tedeschi.

Quan Zhou

"Who got my buddy?" said Najeem Ajez, who had just been moved to a new table to balance the tournament.

His buddy was Graeme "Kiwi" Putt whose seat Ajez had been moved into. The table pointed at table big stack Quan Zhou.

"You're in big trouble," said Ajez.

The table explained that Putt's {j-}{j-} had run into the {a-}{a-} of Zhou for the New Zealander's last 13,000 chips.

Action on Table 27

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} turn, Zachary Tay in the small blind bet 8,500 and Aymon Hata called in the cutoff. The {A-Diamonds} river was checked through and Tay was first to show, but opted to muck instead to forfeit the pot.

Tay forfeited more than that soon after, as his seat was open and the remaining chips had suddenly been moved to Karl Symonds in the two seat. Symonds was then involved in a three-way pot to the {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Spades} turn, on which Mihai Barbu had bet and was called by Michael Gathy and Symonds. The {10-Hearts} on the river brought a bet of 8,000 by Barbu and both opponents mucked, Barbu flashed {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a set and raked in the pot.

Putt Aghast at Opponent's Hand

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

On a {7-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} board Graeme Putt checked and his opponent bet 2,600. Putt called and the Australian poker Hall of Fame member checked the {5-Spades} river.

His opponent bet 3,700 and Putt called.

His opponent turned over {6-Spades}{8-Spades} for a rivered straight.

"What the f*ck. Are you seeing this sh*t?" mouthed Putt as he mucked his hand.

Small Pot for Trewin

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

What started promising with a raise to 700 and four callers ended rather swiftly over on table 47. The flop showed {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and a short-stacked Kylea Trewin bet 1,300 in the small blind. That ended up winning the pot, as Jerry Wong and Petre Linton were also among those to send their cards into the muck.

Table captain for now is Damian Oklobzija with more than three times the starting stack.
