Pocket Pair Good for March

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Anthony March did the ceremonial shuffle up and deal for yesterday's flight of the Main Event, and he's back playing today.

On a {k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop March check-called 1,200 from an opponent and the turn brought the {5-Clubs}. March check-called 3,000 and the river was the {5-Hearts}.

Both players checked the {5-Hearts} and March showed {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} which was good enough to win the pot. March closed in on 50,000 in chips with that small pot.

Luke Bests Table of Stars

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Side Luke, Darryll Fish, Carlo Savinelli and former champion Ami Barer all checked a {10-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop and turn and the river was the {9-Hearts}.

Luke made a show of checking his cards, before checking to Fish who bet 800 into a pot of exactly that amount. Savinelli and Barer both folded and Luke called.

Fish showed {k-Hearts}{7-Spades} for king high and Luke took down the pot with {9-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a rivered pair of nines.

A New Record is in Sight

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With 433 entries throughout the first two starting flights, the third and final starting day was always shaping up to be a big one and has already eclipsed the individual field sizes. Day 1c currently shows a total of 301 entries, of which 291 players remain, and that brings the overall field to more than 730 entries.

The registration remains open for the entire duration of Day 1c, and the first level on Day 2, which may very well result in yet another record attendance at the Aussie Millions Main Event.

Marsh and Foxen Build Stack

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Luke Marsh raised and called a three-bet to 1,600 by the player in the cutoff to go heads up to a {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, which brought no betting action. On the {3-Hearts} turn, Marsh checked and called a bet of 2,300 before leading the {Q-Hearts} river for 5,500. His opponent folded and the Brit claimed the pot.

One table over, Alex Foxen was involved in a bigger pot. By the time the board had completed and showed {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}, Foxen bet 6,000 into 11,200 and engaged in table chat with his sole remaining opponent. Foxen promised to show at least one card and earned the fold soon after, flashing the {J-Spades}.

"You can feel good about the fold," Foxen added and then asked whether or not his opponent had pocket eights.

Ho Cracks Aces to Eliminate a Player

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho opened to 300 from under the gun. The small blind called and the big blind raised to 900.

The two players called and the flop came {6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The small blind checked and the big blind continued for 1,300. Ho called before the small blind check-raised to 5,000. The two players called.

The turn was the {j-Hearts}. This time it checked to Ho who bet 9,000. The small blind folded but the big blind check-raised all in for 17,500. Ho snap-called with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and her opponent grimaced turning over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

The river was the {4-Clubs} and Ho sent a player to the rail just before the break.
