Del Vecchio's Raise Gets a Ton of Credit

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

With over 10,000 in the middle preflop, Mike Del Vecchio was on the button, clashing with a player in the big blind. The flop came {5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and the big blind fired 2,800. Del Vecchio responded with a raise, placing in two 5,000-denomination chips.

Del Vecchio's opponent tanked for a while and then decided to let his hand go, exposing {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Del Vecchio flashed just the {q-Hearts} and his opponent said that "it could have been ace-queen of hearts".

Another Loss for Liberto

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Justin Liberto bet 900 on a {7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop from the big blind and an opponent in middle position called. On the {9-Clubs} turn, Liberto bet 2,500 and his opponent made it 6,000. Liberto stuck around for the {3-Diamonds} river, which he checked. The other player thought a bit then checked and showed {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, clearly not expecting to win. However, it was good.

MacDonnell Finds Much Needed Double

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

It appeared that a late open to 700 and a flat from Kelly Minkin in the cutoff prompted a player on the button to squeeze. However, short-stacked Marc MacDonnell woke up with a good hand and he moved all in from the small blind, leaving the button committed to calling it off. MacDonnell was down to just 6,450 and he peeled {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} in a perfect moment, getting in a showdown versus {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The road to double wouldn't be too easy for MacDonnell as the flop landed {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, but MacDonnell stayed ahead till the end as the {2-Clubs} and {3-Hearts} runout didn't improve his rival's hand.

"He did it!" Kelly Minkin observed, applauding MacDonnell's double.

Liberto Gives Up on River

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Following a raise to 700 from under the gun, Shane Warne (hijack) and Justin Liberto (button) flatted, inviting the big blind to join the action.

The {5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} saw the opener continue for 1,400 and call when Liberto raised to 3,200. The two continued to the {5-Clubs} turn which brought no bets.

The {k-Spades} double-paired the board and Liberto faced a bet of 5,000. He quickly gave up.

"Now I Can't Sleep at Night"

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Scott Margereson raised to 700 in the cutoff and Josip Simunic called in the small blind. Simunic check-called 600 and then 2,300 as the board ran out {5-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts}. On the river, Simunic faced a bet of 4,000. He tanked more than a minute then folded.

"Show one time," he said.

Margereson said he could pick one and Simunic flipped over the {10-Hearts}.

"Now I can't sleep at night," he said with a sigh.

Bain Bombs River

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Tristan Bain bet 1,700 from the button on {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and his opponent in the cutoff called. On the {5-Diamonds} river, Bain faced a lead worth 2,600. He tanked about 90 seconds then made it 18,700. His opponent folded around 30 seconds later.

Warne Reports 0-5

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Shane Warne raised in the cutoff before a player to his left three-bet to 2,000. Action returned to Warne who matched the price.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Warne check-called 1,800. The {a-Clubs} turn filled the flush draw and both players checked, alllowing the dealer to turn up the {10-Clubs} river. Warne checked and immediately folded when his opponent tossed in 3,500.

"Five times, five hands, five losses," Warne summarized his appearance so far.

Davies Counterfeited But Still Chops

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Seth Davies looked to have put in a raise to 5,000 from the button against an opponent under the gun on {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. That player called and then both players checked the {q-Spades} and {k-Diamonds}.

The first player showed {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Davies showed he had it on the flop but would have to settle for half as he flopped two pair with {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.
