Germany Makes the Right Call

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Ron Germany was in position in a three-way pot on a board reading {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The flop checked through leading to the {8-Clubs} on the turn. The first player checked and the next player bet 3,500. Germany and the other opponent both called.

The river brought the {a-Diamonds} and the first player led all-in for 13,500. Only Germany made the call.

"Good call," the opponent said as he tossed {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} into the muck and walked away before Germany tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for aces and nines.

Thrift Cracks Aces to Steam Burns

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Robert Thrift
Robert Thrift

Joey Burns opened to 2,500 in early position and Robert Thrift three-bet to 11,500 behind him. The action folded back to Burns, who four-bet shoved his stack of 74,000. Thrift called off with slightly less.

Robert Thrift: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Joey Burns: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Thrift was in bad shape until a five appeared in the window to give him the lead with a set on the flop of {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn improved him to a full house and the {9-Hearts} on the river didn't change anything.

Thrift was ecstatic while Burns had to do laps around the tournament area as the dealer confirmed he had Thrift covered.

"How the f*** do you call?!" he yelled. "Can you f***in imagine that?"

Burns was left with crumbs and was unhappy about having to sit just a few feet away from the man who just delivered him a brutal suckout.

"I need a f***ing seat transfer," he muttered.

Malone Wins Pot Off Joseph

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Jeremy Joseph opened to 1,700 in middle position and Dicky Malone three-bet to 4,500 on the button. The action folded back to Joseph, who called.

Joseph checked on the flop of {5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Malone continued with a bet of 3,000. Joseph laid it down without a fight.

Moore Doubles Through Salem

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Dave Moore was in a heads-up pot against Gregory Salem on a board of {10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades} with around 22,000 in the middle.

Moore moved all-in for around 15,000 and Salem went in the tank for about five minutes as he thought over the hand.

"Did I get counterfeit? Do you have king-queen?" Salem asked.

Someone at the table called the clock Salem was given 30 seconds to act. He announced a call and Moore tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for kings full of queens, which was good against the counterfeited two pair of Salem with {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Glagolev Raises Flop

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Sergey Glagolev was in a heads-up pot on a board reading {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. His opponent bet 2,200 on the flop and Glagolev quickly raised all-in for 18,000.

The opponent tanked for several minutes and eventually folding, leading Glagolev to show a small overpair with {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}.
