Almost a Four-Way

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

It all started when Syed Bib limped in from early position. Craig Sklar raised to 5,500 on his direct left, a third player called on the button, and Paris Borden defended his big blind. Bib decided to pop it up, back-raising all in for 81,800, and Sklar called all-in for 48,800. The player on the button also committed his last 23,000 chips, and Borden went into the tank.

He owns the biggest stack in the Signature Room, and has plenty of room to gamble it up, be he decided against it, folding {a-}{8-}.

Bib: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Sklar: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

The short-stacked player was drawing very live, but in the end he was chopped up by the two ace-kings as the flop, turn, and river came {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Bib is up to 97,550, while Sklar chipped up to 64,550.

Borden slipped to 256,000.

I Can Be Your Hero, Baby

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

According to Uke Dauti, who is sitting in a stack of about 110,000, he made a big hero call with his tournament life on the line.

Dauti raised in late position with {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and received one caller from the blinds. Both players checked on a flop of {9-}{8-}{7-}, the turn was a {k-}, and the player in the blinds led out. Dauti called.

The river was a {6-}, the player moved all in for 40,000, and Dauti called with just his pair of sixes. They were evidently good, and now he's playing with a very healthy stack.

Cooler Time

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Bill Galler opened to 3,600 from under the gun, a player on his left called, and a third player moved all in for around 20,000 in the blinds. Galler re-shoved, the caller folded, and the hands were opened.

Galler: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Galler's kings crushed his opponent's wired queens, and the men held up as the board rolled out {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Rock'em Sock'em Rivkin

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We passed by Eric Rivkin's table just in time to see the young semi-pro engaged in a heated duel with a lone opponent.

The flop read {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Rivkin was facing a 15,000 wager (which was likely a raise of Rivkin's flop bet, based on the sizing).

Soon enough Rivkin announced himself all in and the accounting showed the wager to be worth 25,900 more. After tanking long and hard, Rivkin's opponent elected to call him down, leaving just 8,000 behind.

Rivkin: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Rivkin had baited his man into calling with bottom pair, and with his top pair/top kicker combination, Rivkin was in a commanding position to double through. The turn ({k-Spades}) and river ({7-Hearts}) changed nothing and a pot worth nearly 100,000 was shipped in Rivkin's direction.

Micah Raskin brought a Gatling gun worth of bullets to bear here at the Borgata... but so far he has shot nothing but blanks
Micah Raskin brought a Gatling gun worth of bullets to bear here at the Borgata... but so far he has shot nothing but blanks

After documenting the remarkable run of reentries made by high-rolling tournament player Micah Raskin - who has lodged at least 8 buy-ins through three starting flights - we can now report that his latest effort has ended like all those before it.

Raskin was seen standing to sweat the board cards a few tables from the PokerNews Live Reporting desk, and within a few seconds he was gathering his belongings to make yet another exit.

With Day 1d set to start at 7 p.m. local time, we would shocked to see a Raskin-less field, as he makes one last attempt to push that boulder to the top of an unreachable peak.
