Borenstein Continues to Prosper

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Paul Volpe opened to 10,000 from under the gun and Jon Borenstein then three-bet to 33,000 in the hijack. Volpe called and the dealer spread out {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} on the flop.

Volpe tapped the table to Borenstein who continued for 30,000 and Volpe called. A {10-Clubs} peeled off on the turn and both players checked to the {a-Spades} river card.

Volpe checked again to Borenstein, he fired in 120,000 and Volpe hit the tank. After a moment of thought Volpe mucked and Borenstein pulled in the pot, adding to his stack.

Palma Starting to Gain Some Traction

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

It has been a surprisingly silent day for Nick Palma who was struggling to really get anything going until late.

Robert Bolte opened to 9,000 from middle position and two players called. Palma looked down at his hand and moved all in, picking up three folds as he took down the pot, adding another much-needed pot to his stack.

Thomson Sends Reslock to the Rail

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Chris Reslock
Chris Reslock

The turned board showed {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and there was around 48,000 in the pot. Action checked to Sean Thomson who bet about 27,000 and Chris Reslock then check-raised all in for 142,000 total.

Thomson snap-called, tabling {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for three snowmen and Reslock turned over {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a bundle of outs. The {10-Clubs} river was not a card that Reslock needed as he was eliminated by Thomson's trips.

A couple of big stacks have developed on Table 6.

Sumit Kumar has been sitting atop the counts for a while now, but David Jackson has been moved to his table and is also among the chip leaders. The rest of the players there are caught between these two big stacks, fighting for pots.

Biggest Stack From Day 1b Eliminated

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Robert Brobyn
Robert Brobyn

The flop showed {3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Robert Brobyn moved his last 67,000 into the pot. Peter Walsworth folded and Pal Zagreda called, putting Brobyn at risk of elimination as the two tabled their hands.

Robert Brobyn: {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Pal Zagreda: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Zagreda was well ahead with his pair of dimes and the {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} runout did not change that as he took down the pot, eliminating Brobyn from the tournament.
