The A♠K♦10♦5♦J♦ runout gave Renzi a pair of jacks on the river but the same card gave Paleatsos the winning flush.
Scott Matte raised to 2,600 and Paul Volpe three-bet to 6,700 thereafter. Thomas Workman then announced he was all-in and pushed forward his chips.
It folded back to Matte and he asked how much Workman roughly had, after which Volpe cut the chips that were right in front of him by then. They were around 58,000 total to call and Matte folded.
"To gamble or not to gamble," Volpe said and ended up folding, too.
"I had pocket jacks," Matte said and Workman replied "good fold, I had you beat ... pocket queens."
"What suits were the queens?" Volpe asked and Workman replied "queen of clubs and ... another," after which the player in the last seat joked "so a read and a black?"
Volpe admitted in the table chat he had folded a good suited ace.
Not long ago, Joseph Lee jammed a four-way flop of 9♣7♣3♥ with the 9♥8♥ and Joseph Renzi got his chips in with the 5♣3♣.
The 8♦ turn and K♦ river ensured the double of Lee for only 11,700 then.
Renzi was left with only 1,800 but won the next all-in, then survived further.
Lee then more than doubled his stack and Renzi was still there, jammed for 6,700. The small blind rejammed to isolate.

Renzi got there with the A♦10♠2♦8♦7♥ runout to double once more while the small blind busted in the next hand.
Just minutes after sitting back down for a new entry, the following hand took place for Matthew Zambanini.
Daniel Lazrus opened to 2,500 from middle position and Frank Funaro called in the hijack. In the small blind, Zambanini squeezed to 8,500. Lazrus four-bet to 22,500, Funaro folded, Zambanini jammed for just under 50,000, and Lazrus called with the covering stack.

Zambanini was in good shape to find the double after a frustrating day. The 6♠3♠3♥ flop kept him in the lead, and the 2♠ turn gave Lazrus the only flush draw. However, it was the A♣ river that gave Lazrus the winner, and Zambanini could only laugh as he took another beat.
He held his kings in the air, getting the attention of Mike Linster from an adjacent table, who asked if Zambanini won the pot for an additional needle as the 2025 Fall Championship winner hit the exit once again.
A short stack was all-in for the last 3,300 and Justin Bianco on the button isolated preflop.

Michael Mann doubled through Matthew Zambanini to extend the horrid run of the latter in the Championship Event.
Short and all-in right after, Zambanini's three-bet shove was called by Adnan Mohammad.

The J♣6♦4♣ flop was a tease, but the 5♦ turn and 8♠ river changed nothing.
"See you guys tomorrow," Zambanini said hinting towards a max late reg before the start of Day 2. However, he bought back in one table over where Frank Funaro had just knocked out another opponent.

Following an open to 2,200 and a call, TJ Laessig squeezed to 10,000 in the hijack. The button then jammed for his 27,500 stack. The others folded, but Laessig decided to put in the call after a minute's tank as the covering stack.
