The clock ticked past 2 a.m. local time in Atlantic City when an abrupt end was called to Day 3 of the 2026 Borgata Summer Poker Open $2,700 Championship. The remaining seven players were sent off to rest up for tomorrow’s final day, but it was Carlos Chadha who will sleep the most soundly tonight.
The Washington native bagged up an overwhelming chip lead at the final table, ending the day with 9,520,000. Chadha has nearly three times his closest challenger and is in a commanding position to capture the title and $242,385 first prize tomorrow.

Chadha leapt up the leaderboard when he pulled off a big bluff against Nicholas Verderamo. He bet 2,400,000 on the river with just a pair of threes, and Verderamo laid down top pair of aces. Chadha then made the nut flush on the river to beat Bin Weng’s set of fours and send Weng to the rail in 11th place. He’ll move past $3.5 million in live tournament earnings with a win tomorrow, with a career resume that includes a deep run to 51st place in the WSOP Main Event a few weeks ago.
Maxwell Young is ahead of the pack who will try to track down Chadha at the final table. The Florida native with nearly $4 million in live earnings sits in second place with 3,450,000. Michael Renna’s ticket to the final day was nearly ripped up when, on one of the last hands before play was called, he got in his last chips with two nines but ran into Verderamo’s jacks. The flop, though, gave him a set and a double up. Renna doubled up multiple times during the last level and went from an extreme short stack to 2,795,000 and third place on the leaderboard.
James Tedrow (1,955,000) is the last remaining BetMGM qualifier left in the field, while Verderamo (2,630,000), Russ Dunlevy (1,055,000), and WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Porter (1,030,000) round out the rest of the final table lineup.
Day 3 began with 24 players remaining out of a starting field of 565, and among the first bustouts were BetMGM qualifiers Xiaoqiong Liu (22nd), John McDonald (19th), and Austen Yueh (17th). Mike Dentale managed to make the final table, but his colorful run through this tournament came to an end when he lost a flip with ace-queen against Young’s threes to bust in ninth place. Tedrow then flopped the nut flush to eliminate Ricky Guan in eighth place.
Play was scheduled to go down to six players, but the short stacks kept surviving and the hours ticked by before it was decided to end up with seven players. They’ll return at noon local time tomorrow to play down to a champion. The action picks up on Level 28 with blinds of 60,000/120,000 and a 120,000 big blind ante. Levels will go back to being 60 minutes long, before being further reduced to 30 minutes once heads-up play is reached.

The remaining seven players have already locked up $34,620 out of the $1,356,000 prize pool. The champion takes home $242,385 and the Borgata and BetMGM trophies. All the action will be streamed on BetMGM’s official YouTube channel.

The final seven players went on their next scheduled 15-minute break and when they returned a few minutes earlier, they were informed that all would bag up their chips for the night and return at noon local time.

Nicholas Verderamo raised to 220,000 in the cutoff with A♣J♦ before Maxwell Young three-bet to 650,000 in the big blind. Verderamo then moved all in for 1,830,000, and Young folded A♥3♦.
Michael Renna then raised to 200,000 in the hijack with A♥9♣ and Carlos Chadha defended A♣8♣.
Chadha led out for 110,000 on the J♦8♠7♦ flop, and Renna called. Chadha bet another 190,000 on the 2♥ turn, and Renna folded this time.
Renna raised to 200,000 again the next hand and James Tedrow moved all in for 1,505,000 in the hijack with A♠Q♦. Renna folded A♥7♥, and Tedrow took the last pot of the night.

Russ Dunlevy raised to 225,000 with the A♣Q♥ in the cutoff and Nicholas Verderamo three-bet jammed on the button for 1,655,000 effective thereafter. Michael Renna tank-called all-in from the small blind for 1,440,000 and James Tedrow folded the 7♥7♦ in the big blind.
Dunlevy went deep into the tank before he eventually sent his cards into the muck, using all of his remaining time banks in the process.

The 10♥9♠8♠ flop gave Renna a set of nines while Verderamo had the overpair and straight draw. Neither the 5♣ turn and 2♥ river changed anything and Renna more than doubled, piling misery on Verderamo late in the level.

Carlos Chadha raised to 200,000 under the gun before Michael Renna moved all in for 1,390,000 in the cutoff with 10♦10♣. Chadha folded 5♠5♥.
Renna then opened to 200,000 under the gun with 8♠8♣, but Maxwell Young picked up Q♠Q♣ in the hijack and three-bet to 555,000. Renna folded.
