Dentale Runs Out of Time Against Porter

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Andrew Porter
Andrew Porter

Andrew Porter limped the small blind and then called a raise to 185,000 by Maxwell Young in the big blind. Porter checked the A43 flop and then folded to a shove.

Concetta Rinaldi then jammed for 350,000 and Russ Dunlevy in the big blind folded.

"I had a pocket pair," Rinaldi said and flashed the 44. "I had deuces," Dunlevy replied.

Porter then opened to 120,000 in the cutoff and Mike Dentale called from the big blind. On a flop of K94, Dentale check-called for 110,000 and the 3 came on the turn.

Dentale checked again and Porter bet 290,000.

"How much do you have?" Dentale inquired and Porter replied "six behind" after which Dentale used one time bank and called.

Dentale checked the 7 river and Porter now bet 600,000 with 130,000 behind.

Dentale leaned back into his chair and with a cracked voice, he said "all-in?!" in a questioning voice, which he repeated one more time.

It was only a bet which Dentale had covered by a small amount and he sighed "it's a clean runout". He then asked Porter amid other table chat if he would show the cards while his clock was running.

The thirty seconds ran down twice and his last time banks were taken before the clock hit five seconds again, which the dealer announced. No decision followed and the floor came over to inform that Dentale's hand was dead since he had no more time banks at his disposal.

Porter showed 1010 for a straight, while Young had Q10 to chop the pot.

"How do you have a ten?" Porter wondered aloud.

"That's the sickest runout. Three different straights," Mike Dentale added.

"I didn't think he had a ten. I thought it was always a bluff," Porter added.

"Does anyone have Connie's number?" Mike Dentale called out as Concetta Rinaldi didn't return from the break and missed the first several hands. A tournament official was then dispatched to search the casino floor and try to find her.

Meanwhile, Russ Dunlevy had limped in from under the gun before Ricky Guan raised to 210,000 in the cutoff. Dunlevy then reraised to 450,000, and Guan folded.
