In a battle between the blinds, Renan Bruschi got in his last 400,000 and was up against Felipe Boianovsky.
Renan Bruschi: Q♠Q♣
Felipe Boianovsky: K♣K♠
Bruschi had run his queens into Boianovsky's kings and was at risk as the flop came A♠2♣9♦, but he caught the Q♥ on the turn to make a set. The river was the 9♠ and Bruschi improved to a full house to win the pot and double up.
Zdenek Zizka raised to 24,000 in the cutoff and Ivan Luca called on the button. Alisson Piekazewicz then three-bet to 95,000 in the small blind, and Zizka folded, but Luca moved all in. Piekazewicz snap-called for 423,000.
Alisson Piekazewicz: K♥K♣
Ivan Luca: 8♥8♦
Piekazewicz had Luca dominated with his kings and was poised for a double up, and the A♦7♠6♣A♠Q♣ board forced Luca to hand over most of his stack.
Rodrigo Selouan raised to 24,000 in the cutoff and Martin Kabrhel called on the button, as did Felipe Boianovsky in the big blind.
All three players checked the J♦8♦Q♦ flop. "I'm guaranteed to win this pot. I played a straight flush so well," Kabrhel said heading to the K♥ turn. Selouan then bet 30,000.
Kabrhel complained to the floor that Selouan didn't have his stack visible before calling, while Boianovsky folded. The river was the A♣ and Selouan checked to Kabrhel, who moved all in. Selouan flashed A♦6♠ and folded.
Alisson Piekazewicz raised to 22,000 in the hijack before Kelvin Kerber three-bet to 50,000 in the cutoff. Piezakewicz then moved all in for 184,000, and Kerber called.
Alisson Piekazewicz: A♣K♠
Kelvin Kerber: J♦J♣
It was a race situation, and Piekazewicz took the lead on the K♣K♦2♦ flop with trips. The A♠ turn improved him to a full house, and Kerber was drawing dead by the Q♦ river and forced to hand over the double up.
Daniel Rezaei raised to 25,000 under the gun and was called by Leandro Zavodini in the cutoff and Andre Akkari on the button. Leonardo Rizzo then three-bet to 80,000, and all three opponents called.
The flop came A♦4♦2♠ and Rezaei bet 75,000. Only Zavodini called to see the 7♦ turn, where Rezaei bet another 115,000. Zavodini folded this time.
At the same time at the other outer table, Martin Kabrhel and Fausto Martello went to the river on a board of 7♠4♣9♥K♥K♣. Kabrhel then bet 220,000 from the cutoff, Martello moved all in for 250,000 in the big blind, and Kabrhel called.
Martello showed 9♦2♠, but Kabrhel had K♦8♠ for trips to win the pot and send Martello to the rail, although temporarily. "He'll be back," tablemate Felipe Boianovsky said.
Martin Kabrhel raised to 25,000 on the button before Mehdi Chaoui moved all in for 85,000 in the small blind. Felipe Boianovsky then reraised to 160,000, and Kabrhel folded.
Mehdi Chaoui: 8♠8♦
Felipe Boianovsky: A♥9♦
Boianovsky picked up a straight draw on the J♣10♠4♦K♠ flop to go with his overcards, but he missed the 6♣ river and Chaoui doubled up.
"Say thank you to him. You would be out," Kabrhel said to Chaoui.
Martin Kabrhel has spent the first part of the day constantly ribbing tablemate Gabriel Tavares about folding pocket jacks yesterday when he would've chopped the pot. Tavares then joked he thought he had deuces.
"If that happened to me, I'm finished. I go play checkers," Kabrhel said.
Joao Simao was then in the small blind and three-bet to 88,000. Tavares four-bet to 205,000 in the big blind, and Simao moved all in for 774,000.
Tavares took a minute but eventually gave up his hand. "Nice fold, pocket jacks. You thought you had deuces, but then you saw jacks?" Kabrhel added, continuing with the roast.
Three players checked to the turn on a board of 4♥5♠10♥6♠ when Andre Akkari, who had just entered the tournament shortly after the start of play, bet 105,000 from the big blind. Thiago Crema then moved all in from the hijack.
Akkari gave up his hand. "Misclick," he said, and Crema showed him two sevens.
Leandro Zavodini and Ivan Luca have also joined the field.
