Wilkie Surpasses 100k

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante
Steve Wilkie

There was 8,600 in the pot as the dealer spread a flop of {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Action was three ways and the small blind checked to Steve Wilkie, who was in the hijack. Wilkie put out a bet of 5,000.

The player on the button was next to act and folded, as did the small blind, resulting in the pot being sent Wilkie way. With his most recent won pot, Wilkie now finds himself as likely the first player to surpass 100,000 this afternoon.

Zedo Wins Small Pot

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

A player limped in from under the gun and Corey Zedo raised to 1,000 from early position. Action folded back to the limper and he exchanged his 300 for a yellow T1,000 chip to call.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades} and both players checked. The dealer brought the turn {6-Diamonds} and Zedo saw his opponent check to him again. He methodically cut out a bet of 1,600 and his opponent studied the situation for about 15 seconds before pushing his cards forward to the muck.

A slew of players have just rushed into the Golden Gates Poker Parlour, with a handful of known players making their way to the newly-formed Table 4, including Nick Pupillo and Rich Dixon, who spent most of the day at the same table during yesterday's Day 1b flight as well.

With four more hours of late registration plus the 45-minute dinner break, the field is sure to continue to grow as players seize their last opportunities at advancing to tomorrow's Day 2.

Marchitti Makes Queens Up

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Joel Verbeck was in the big blind and raised to 1,250 over at least three limpers. He received two calls from Richard Fergsuon in early position and Nicholas Marchitti in middle position.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Verbeck and Ferguson checked. Marchitti bet 1,600 and both players called.

The turn was {2-Spades} and action again checked to Marchitti, who bet another 3,200. Verbeck called and Ferguson gave up his hand. Both players checked through to showdown on the river {6-Clubs}.

Marchitti tabled {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} for queens and sixes with a jack kicker and Verbeck mucked his hand, letting out a sigh as he did so.

Stewart Fires Turn

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

The big blind and a player in early position had each committed 1,200 preflop and action was back on David Stewart, who was in the process of reraising to 4,200 from the small blind. The big blind folded and the early-position player called.

The flop came {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn came {2-Diamonds} and Stewart fired 3,000 forward. His opponent thought for a few seconds and tossed his cards to the muck, resulting in "Stew" taking down the pot.
