Chip Counts
The 98 remaining players have been sent on a final 15-minute break of the day. When they return, they will play three more 40-minute levels before the survivors bag up.
Sergi Kapanadze checked the 5♦3♥6♦ flop from the big blind, and Egidijus Matonis followed suit in middle position. Thomas Jakobsen then bet 5,500 from middle position, which both opponents called.
Kapanadze checked in flow on the 9♠ turn, but Matonis decided to wager his remaining 21,000 by leading out. Jakobsen quickly called, forcing Kapanadze out of the pot.
Egidijus Matonis: K♦9♦
Thomas Jakobsen: Q♥Q♦
Matonis had plenty of outs against Jakobsen's queens, but he did not find any on the 5♣ river. The big pot was shipped to Jakobsen, while Matonis quickly headed to the exit.
In a pot worth 11,500, Alger Pissarev bet 4,000 from the small blind on an 8♠8♥7♦ flop. Lauri Laast then raised to 10,500, and Pissarev called after some thought.
After the Q♠ turn was checked through, Pissarev bet 15,000 on the 2♠ river. Laast quickly folded, surrendering the pot to the table chipleader.
Runar Runarsson raised to 1,500 in middle position. Pekka Karvonen called in the hijack, prompting big blind Johan Storakers to three-bet to 6,600. Runarsson quickly folded, but Karvonen pushed in his stack of 19,800.
After getting a count, Storakers decided to call and put Karvonen at risk.
Pekka Karvonen: A♣K♣
Johan Storakers: 10♠10♥
Karvonen made two pair on the 4♠K♦6♦A♦3♦ board, doubling him up to overtake Storakes in the counts.
Level: 6
Blinds: 300/600
Ante: 600
Sigurdur Fridriksson opened to 1,500 under the gun. Alger Pissarev three-bet to 4,500 in the next seat over, and Fridriksson called.
Fridriksson check-called Pissarev's bets of 2,500 on the J♦10♦6♦ flop and 8,000 on the 2♠ turn.
The 5♥ river saw Pissarev fire a third barrel, worth 13,000. Fridriksson check-called a final time, but his Q♦J♠ was no match for the J♥10♥ of Pissarev, who shipped the pot with top two.
Big blind Sindre Roenquist, Baldvin Borgarsson in the hijack, and Granit Haziraj in the cutoff each tossed 9,000 into the pot preflop. Roenquist then bet 13,000 on the 8♠3♥J♣ flop, which both opponents called.
Roenquist quickly moved all in on the 6♣ turn. Borgarsson folded, but Haziraj called off for 26,000.
Granit Haziraj: 9♣7♣
Sindre Roenquist: K♠K♥
Roenquist's kings held on the 2♠ river, sending him the enormous pot and eliminating Haziraj in the process.
