€2,200 The Million Opener
Day 2 Completed
“How do you have it every time?” Taago Tamm asked Puk Nabuurs late in the day, and the rest of the field was left wondering the same thing as the Dutch native took the chip lead to the final table on Day 2 of the Diamond Poker Series PLO Grand Slam Tallinn €2,200 The Million Opener.
Nabuurs ended the night with 14,250,000 as the remaining nine players agreed to stop play once the final table was reached. He tripled up with a rivered flush in a three-way all in that also saw Gergo Nagy bust in 22nd, then picked up aces to bust Finnish star Aku Joentausta in a massive pot. Nabuurs, with $144,000 in total live earnings, has nearly matched his previous best score by making it to the final table while a win would surpass all of his career winnings combined.

He’s followed on the leaderboard by Danyil Zaremba (11,250,000), Fredrik Lindstrom (11,200,000), and Tobias Andersen (7,725,000). WSOP bracelet winner Dario Alioto found a late double up off Andersen, dodging flush and straight draws on the river to survive as he takes 2,700,000 into the final table. Robin Palm (5,425,000), start-of-day chip leader Tamm (4,800,000), Lauri Varonen (4,525,000), and Mihkel Vitsur (2,700,000) round out the final table lineup.
The five starting flights built up a field of 416 entries battling for the guaranteed €960,000 prize pool. Just 52 began the day, and Youness Barakat (46th), Vivian Saliba (38th), Jessica Teusl (31st), Jerry Odeen (28th), Henry Kilbane (26th), and WSOP bracelet winner Amir Mozaffarian (16th) were among those sent to the payout desk.
Tournament officials gave the players the option of going down to a winner tonight, but the majority decided to end once the final table was reached. They’ll return to the Chesterfield Poker Club tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time. The action picks up with 24 minutes remaining in Level 24 with blinds of 100,000-200,000 and a 200,000 big blind ante. The finalists have all locked up at least €18,340, while the champion earns €200,000.
PokerNews will be back following along with the action at the final table and providing live updates until the first Diamond Poker Series Tallinn champion is crowned.

Teemu Toikkanen raised to 575,000 in the cutoff and Danyil Zaremba and Lauri Varonen called in the blinds.
All three players checked the 7♠6♥6♠ flop. Varonen then bet 800,000 on the 8♦ turn and Toikkanen tossed in his last 25,000 chip, while Zaremba got out of the way.
Varonen turned over Q♣Q♠9♥6♣ for trips. "One out," Toikkanen said, showing A♦J♥10♦8♣. The river was the J♦ and Toikkanen was eliminated on the final table bubble.

Lauri Varonen had taken down two straight pots with raises to 700,000 before the flop. He then raised to 700,000 again under the gun, but this time found a caller in Mihkel Vitsur in the cutoff.
The flop came 7♣7♦8♥ and Varonen moved all in for 1,900,000. Vitsur quickly folded as action has slowed down on the final table bubble.

Around 2,500,000 was already in the middle as Danyil Zaremba and Robin Palm went to the turn on a board of 10♠K♦2♦7♥. Zaremba then bet 1,200,000 from the button and Palm called in the cutoff.
The river was the 5♥ and Zaremba bet 2,000,000. Palm asked how much was in the pot and burned through multiple time banks but ended up sending his cards into the muck.

Robin Palm raised to 525,000 in the cutoff and Georgios Tsoupras reraised to 1,675,000 in the small blind, leaving 100,000 behind. Palm called and they got Tsoupras' last chip in on the Q♥8♥K♦ flop.
Georgios Tsoupras: A♠A♦J♥J♣
Robin Palm: A♥K♣10♦8♠
Tsoupras was ahead with his aces, but Palm spiked trips as the board ran out 2♣K♥ to send Tsoupras to the rail.
At the same time at the other table, Andriy Lyubovetskiy was all in for 2,000,000 against Tobias Andersen.
Andriy Lyubovetskiy: A♠K♣8♥8♠
Tobias Andersen: A♦Q♥Q♣5♣
The A♥K♥4♥ flop gave Lyubovetskiy top two pair, while the turn was the 3♣. The river Q♠ improved Andersen to a set and sent Lyobovetskiy to the rail.
Since Tsoupras and Lyubovetskiy were eliminated at the same time on a pay jump, they chopped up 12th and 11th place between them.
