Cold Deck Leaves O'Brien Numb

Spare a thought for poor Liam O'Brien. The young qualifier got almost his whole stack in on the river of a X-{6-?}-X-{8-?}-{6-?} board and turned over pocket eights for a full house, only to find his all-in opponent holding pocket sixes for quads. O'Brien is left with just 1,300 and probably some very bitter memories from EPT Berlin.

Kang Wins One

Benjamin Kang checked a {A-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} flop to his lone opponent, who bet 1,600. Kang called, and both checked the {Q-Clubs} on the turn. The river was the {Q-Spades}, and Kang checked a third time. His opponent slid out 2,800, and Kang looked him up. The bettor could only show {J-?} {5-?} for jack-high, meaning Kang's {K-?} {8-?} was good for the pot with or without his pair of eights.

[Removed:198] Tuning Out the Table

Who knows what [Removed:198]'s playing?
Who knows what [Removed:198]'s playing?
We arrived to hear [Removed:197] disputing the amount of change he was owed bet with the floor. He bet with a single 5,000 chip, verbally declaring what he claimed was a 2,300 bet. Apparently the dealer announced a 3,300 bet, which [Removed:198] didn't correct. Just guessing that his large headphones might have had something to do with that.
His opponent then moved all in, and [Removed:198] folded, expecting 2,700 in change.

Since he didn't correct the dealer earlier, the floor ruled that the bet was 3,300 and [Removed:198] was only owed 1,700 in change. While for some stacks in the room, the difference is just pocket change, Nasr is down to 13,300 and could have used the extra grand.

Kabrhel Picks Up a Pot

With the board reading {K-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} on the turn, Martin Kabrhel moved all in for his last 10,500. His opponent thought about it for a long time while Kabrhel sat absolutely still behind his sunglasses. Eventually he folded, and Kabrhel sprang into life again to rake in the pot, taking his chip count up to 18,000.

Paul Berende
Paul Berende
The board was {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Julien Brecard checked to Paul Berende. Berende fired 2,300 and Brecard made the call.

After the river put the {Q-Clubs} on board. Brecard fired 6,200. Berende made the call after a few minutes in the tank. Brecard tapped the table and then Berende tabled the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Brecard mucked and dropped to 36,000 while Berende moved up to 42,000.

Lellouche Turns Two Pair, Then Gets Rivered

Antony Lellouche raised to 725 from middle position. An opponent in the cutoff seat three-bet to 2,000. Lellouche made the call and the two saw a flop of {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Lellouche checked and his opponent fired 3,000. Lellouche made the call.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and Lellouche checked. His opponent checked behind.

The river completed the board with the {J-Spades} and Lellouche bet 6,600. His opponent made the call and watched as Lellouche tabled the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for two pair. The player then tabled the {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for a set of jacks and won the pot, knocking Lellouche down to 8,775.
