Venneri Pays Bolzoni Off

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Antonio Venneri raised to 55,000 and Diego Bolzoni defended his big blind. The two of them saw a flop of {j-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {a-Clubs} and Bolzoni checked to Venneri who bet 50,000 and the bet was called. The turn was the {5-Spades} and both players checked. The river was the {10-Clubs} and after asking the dealer to spread the pot Bolzoni bet 150,000 into the 360,000 pot. After some time in the tank Venneri called and Bolzoni showed down {j-Spades} {10-Spades} for a full-house and Venneri mucked.

Venneri ~ 800,000
Bolzoni ~ 1,100,000

Unlucky Lacay Has Been Eliminated in 39th Place (€20,000)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Roberto Spada has had an air of invincibility around him since clashing with Ruben Visser on the bubble yesterday. He is certainly one to watch and now seems to have the Poker Gods on his side as well.

Spada raised to 60,000 from under the gun and Lacay defended his big blind.

Flop: {5-Clubs} {q-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}

Lacay Checked, Spada bet 125,000, Lacay check-raised to 315,000, Spada moved all-in and Lacay called.

Lacay{5-Hearts} {6-Hearts}
Spada{k-Clubs} {k-Spades}

It was a monster pot. The turn {4-Hearts} didn't change anything but the river {4-Spades} changed everything. The paired board handing Spada a higher two pair and Lacay was a goner.

Spada ~ 2,100,000

Maurizio, For Poorer

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Dario Nittolo
Dario Nittolo

Maurizio Sepede has succumbed, getting it in good with {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} against Dario Nittolo's {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} but falling short on the {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} board. He said some things very fast in Italian, of which all we caught was, "Tutta la vita!" but it changed nothing - he busted out in 42nd place, while Nittolo gave various cameras the thumbs up and increased his stack to 950,000.

Quadruple Double Ups

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

A series of double ups now - everyone is just refusing to bust, it seems.

Rainer Emde Doubles Through Rocco Palumbo

Emde was so short when he pushed that it seemed worth Palumbo's while to call in the big blind with {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Emde's {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} held on the {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} board and he doubled up, but on 140,000 after the event he is still desperately short.

Costantino Russo Doubles Through Roberto Spada

Spada's pocket nines were no good at all against Russo's aces; even less so when Russo flopped a set. Russo is up to 850,000 now, while former chip leader Spada is down to 1.1 million - still above average, but nowhere near the chip lead.

Leonid Bilokur Doubles Through Nicolas Yunis

Yunis raised the button and Bilokur shoved from the small blind. It took Yunis a little while to call but call he did with {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and it was an easy double up for Bilokur and his pocket {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} on a {6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} board. Bilokur is at 450,000 after that, Yunis still among the chip leaders on 1.65 million.

Max Heinzelmann Doubles Through Stefan Huber

Heinzelmann's {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} came good against Huber's {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} when then board ran out {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. They're at roughly half a million apiece after that, but they're moving in opposite directions.

Francesco De Vivo's Turn to Double Up

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Xuan Liu had only just welcomed Joe Cada's chips to her chip family when she had to off-load a portion of them to Francesco de Vivo.

Francesco de Vivo raised from the button for 51,000 and Liu three-bet from the small blind making it 121,000 to play. The big blind briefly considered joining in the fun, but folded before Francesco de Vivo moved all-in. Liu doesn't get very excited (externally at least) and she calmly indicated that she was calling and wished her opponent good luck.

Liu{a-Hearts} {10-Clubs}
de Vivo{q-Spades} {q-Diamonds}

Board: {7-Hearts} {k-Spades} {7-Clubs} {k-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}

Liu ~ 1,160,000
de Vivo ~ 600,000

Xuan Liu Wins a Big Pot From Cada

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

We arrived at the table with the board already at the turn. It was showing {7-Hearts} {5-Spades} {2-Clubs} {k-Spades} and Xuan Liu had check-raised a 112,000 Cada bet. It was 240,000 in total for Cada to call.

Cada had approx. 850,000 behind and there were 200,000 in the pot. Cada's face moaned and groaned before he eventually announced all-in. His facial expressions didn't matter to Liu because she wasn't even looking at him when she made the call.

"You have a set?" Cada asked.

Liu shook her head and showed {k-Clubs} {7-Clubs} and Cada flipped over the inferior {k-Hearts} {6-Hearts}. Only one card to come and it was the {a-Spades} and Liu doubled up to 1,400,000 while Cada slipped back down to 335,000.
