Tome Moreira raised from the hijack seat to 11,500 and Mario Adinolfi called from the cutoff seat. Jose Nieto reraised all in from the big blind for 116,500 and after a few minutes in the tank, Moreira folded. Adinolfi made the call rather quickly and showed the . He was dominated by Nieto's .
The flop, turn and river ran through and Adinolfi sent over the chips to double Nieto.
If our Portuguese is sharp, Andre Akkari lost a huge pot recently when his pocket eights were toppled by an opponent's pocket threes.
The Team PokerStars Pro has rebounded very quickly, though. In the last hand, Akkari opened to 11,000 from the button, and he and small blind Toni Pettersson went to battle. Akkari ended up putting his last ~120,000 into the pot, and he rolled over . Pettersson and his needed to improve in a hurry to earn the knockout, but the board ensured Mr. Akkari will be sticking around for a bit longer. He's back up to 250,000 now.
Dmitry Gromov was just eliminated by Vytautas Milvydas after his river push was called. The final board read .
Milvydas called the push with and it was good as Gromov flipped over just a seven when he mucked. The dealer then flipped over his other card - a queen - before sliding the pot to Milvydas. Gromov took extreme exception to this and picked up his cards and threw then at the dealer whilst saying, "I only showed one. Why do you you that?" Then for good measure he threw his player ID card at the dealer too.
We may be all the way over in Barcelona, Spain for the European Poker Tour event, but on this hand it was two American players in action. From the button, Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin raised to 10,500. Robert Firestone reraised all in from the big blind for a little under 100,000. Ramdin gave it only a few seconds of thought and then folded, allowing Firestone's shove to go uncalled.
Ronald Lee's pocket queens were cracked by an opponent's ace-ten a short while ago, and he could scarcely afford the hit. He was very short on chips when he made his final stand from the button, and he was unable to survive the shove as Vanessa Selbst made queens up to send Lee to the exit.
From middle position, Hungarian Benjamin Juhasz raised to 10,500. Italian Mario Adinolfi called on the button and Russian Khazret Nebezhev called from the small blind to make this a multi-national pot.
The flop came down and no one wanted to take a stab as action checked through to the turn. On the turn, Nebezhev checked and Juhasz bet 17,000. Adinolfi called and Nebezhev folded.
The landed on the river and both remaining players quickly checked. Juhasz showed the and Adinolfi mucked his hand.
With 82,000 chips in the middle on the flop of , Andrey Gulyy and Thomas Larsen were in action again. This time, it was Gulyy's turn to check-raise and win the hand. He checked and Larsen bet 28,500. Gulyy check-raised to 82,500 and that sent Larsen into the tank for a few minutes. Eventually, Larsen folded and Gulyy won the pot.
Action folded to Giovanni Vicinanza and he raised on the button to 11,000. In the big blind, Antoine Denis Junillon moved all in for 124,000. Vicinanza began to tank and after a few minutes, Kenny Shih called the clock on Vicinanza. About half a minute later, Vicinanza made the call.
Vicinanza:
Junillon:
The flop gave some hope to Vicinanza when it came and he was the only one holding a heart, but the on the turn and on the river were no help to him. He was forced to send the chips over to Vicinanza to double him up and was left with 60,000.
Benny Spindler was down around 50-60,000 when he got the last of his stack into the pot before the flop. He was working with , and he was a slight favorite to double as Andrey Gulyy looked him up with .
The board frowned on Spindler, though. It came out , and two pair gives Gulyy the knockout. It's the end of the day for another dangerous pro, and he'll walk out with a small paycheck to show for his efforts.
