Rino Mathis
Rino Mathis

Team PokerStars Pro Rino Mathis has been eliminated. We caught up with him at payout desk and he filled us in on the details:

He was down to 15 big blinds and moved all-in with {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} but the button woke up with jacks. No three-outer came to save the Swiss.

Sadornil Busts Hoffer

Manuel Sadornil and David Hoffer were all in preflop. Hoffer was the player at risk and held the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} in this flip against Sadornil's {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} and hit Sadornil with a set of jacks. Hoffer did pick up a straight draw, but couldn't hit after the {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn and the {9-Diamonds} hit on the river.

Becker Eliminated

Boris Becker (Day 1b)
Boris Becker (Day 1b)

Boris Becker has just been eliminated by Benjamin Juhasz. Becker moved all in from the hijack seat for 30,500 and was called by Juhasz on the button. Everyone else folded.

Becker: {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Juhasz: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Becker fell further behind as Juhasz hit a set of sixes. The turn was the {A-Hearts} and gave Becker some hope with a flush draw, but the {7-Clubs} on the river failed to keep him alive.

Margets held the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} to Pisarev's {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Pisarev doubled.

Lovely Leo
Lovely Leo

Jack "jackEllwood86" Ellwood is bust and he just Tweeted: "Bust. Cutoff opened, I shove AJ on btn, bb finds QQ and I can't get there."

Leo "LeoMargets" Margets is having a great day. I'm not sure what this says but I believe she's over the 400,000 mark: "Squeezeo en bb a 37k con AK y me pagan los 2!! Flop J38 todos check, turn A, yo ch, el OR check y boton 50k, yo push d 210k y se tiran!+400k."

Pastor Sticking Around

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Vanessa Selbst just can not shake Juan Manuel Pastor. In their last battle, Pastor got his last ~50,000 into the pot preflop with {A-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}, and Selbst was right there with the dominating {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {3-Clubs} {10-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Spades}, though, and both players make the matching Broadway straight. We'd make an argument that the six-card straight should earn the pot, but they don't listen to us. Pastor gets his money back plus half the blinds and antes, and he's been nursing that short stack along for hours now.
