Beris Chops to Stay Alive

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded to Ioannis Beris in the small blind and he raised all in for 81,000. Steve O'Dwyer called from the big blind. Somehow, someway, the two players tabled the same hand; a variation of {10-}{3-}.

O'Dwyer: {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Beris: {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and the two chopped up the pot.

Five-Way Pot Goes to Adeniya

It's not often we get to witness a pot go five ways to the flop this deep in a tournament, but we just did. From under the gun, Steve O'Dwyer raised to 52,000. In the next seat, Mattias Bergstrom called and then Kevin Iacofano called in the seat next to act. Play then folded a few spots over to Martins Adeniya in the cutoff seat and he called before Ioannis Beris completed the action with a call from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} and action checked all the way around to Adeniya. He bet 100,000 and one by one, each player folded.

Barbosa Gone

Joao Barbosa (Day 4) - 17th Place
Joao Barbosa (Day 4) - 17th Place

We've lost our only former European Poker Tour champion still remaining and that paves the way for a brand new champion to take this EPT title.

Joao Barbosa was that last former champion standing and he raised all in for his last 236,000 before being called by Steve O'Dwyer. Barbosa held the best of it with pocket fours, but needed to win a flip against the {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for O'Dwyer.

The flop paired O'Dwyer when the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} fell. The turn {8-Spades} and river {7-Spades} didn't land any help from there on out for Barbosa and he was sent to the rail.

The final 16 players are now redrawing to two tables and we're on a 15-minute break.

Swart Sent Packing

From the small blind, Mattias Bergstrom exercised his big stack prowess by shoving all in against Andries Swart in the big blind. Swart called to put himself at risk with the {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Bergstrom held the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Bergstrom rivered a straight to the king. He won the pot while Swart was eliminated.

Loureiro Doubles Through Adeniya

From under the gun, Jeremy Kottler made it 52,000 to go. Hugo Loureiro reraised all in from the cutoff seat for 282,000. Martins Adeniya reshoved from the button and around 1.8 million. Action folded to Kottler and he also folded.

Loureiro: {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Adeniya: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Adeniya's kings held so far. The turn was the {A-Clubs} and that put Loureiro in the lead. He stayed there after the {Q-Clubs} fell on the river and doubled up
