Stefan Jedlicka has just doubled up through Michael McNelis after the latter said he simply did not believe that Jedlicka had a legitimate hand.
On a board reading McNelis checked and then called Jedlicka's 6,500 bet. The river brought the into play and McNelis once against checked. Jedlicka sat motionless for a few moments before he announced he was all in. The dealer counted out his chips and informed McNelis that it would be 14,275 to call. As soon as she had said this McNelis made the call.
Jedlicka turned over and McNelis quickly mucked. "I didn't believe you," said the Brit, but Jedlicka did not engage in conversation, instead he got busy with stacking his new chips.
There are a number of rule changes on the EPT circuit in season eight and Team PokerStars Pro Marcin Horecki has just deployed one to his advantage.
Horecki raised to 825 from early position and Christian Jeppson three-bet to 2,150 from his position in the cut-off. A few folds later and Marcin Horecki was making the call.
Flop:
Horecki checked to Jeppson and he bet 1,600. The hooded Horecki then check-raised to 4,025 and Jeppson made the quick call.
That was the end of the action as both players checked the turn and river. Horecki was the last aggressor and had to show his hand, which he duly did . Just before Jeppson could muck his hand (which he was obviously going to do) Horecki asked to see Jeppson's cards. One of the new rules this season is the aggressor can ask to see the other persons hand IF they still have cards in their hand at showdown. Jepsson flipped over and Horecki won the pot.
Joe Ebanks won a bracelet in the 6-max championship event at this year's WSOP and there is no way to be successful in that format without some pure aggression in your armoury. He just won over 10,000 chips without having to show down.
Kayvan Payman raised to 900 and was called by Albert Mikhailyta (who tried to limp for 400) and Richard Toth before Ebanks three-bet to 3,500 from the big blind. Payman folded but the other two players called.
Te flop came and a Ebanks lead for 2,500 was enough to get both opponents off their hand. The American is up to 41,000 now.
The reigning European Poker Tour's Prague Main Event champion, Roberto Romanello, has just sent a very dangerous opponent, Kevin Vandersmissen, to the rail.
Romanello got matters underway with a raise to 800 from under the gun. Everyone folded to Vandersmissen in the cutoff seat and he three-bet to 1,975. The button and both blinds folded but Romanello was going nowhere and he made it 3,400 to play. With the action on Vandersmissen he moved all in for around 15,000 chips and the Welshman snapped him off.
Vandersmissen:
Romanello:
The final board ran out and with that the runner-up at EPT Snowfest was eliminated and Romanello is back about his starting stack of 30,000.
Maksim Kolosov is still our chipleader after coming off best in a clash with fellow big stack Mathew Frankland.
Frankland raised to 700 from early position and when the action folded to Kolosov in the big blind he put in the extra chips needed to make the call. The flop came down and Kolosov check-called Frankland's 850 bet. The turn followed in a similar vein, Kolosov check-calling a 1,450 bet. The completed the community cards and this time both players checked.
Kolosov turned over , which Frankland could not beat so he mucked his hand.
Marton Czuczor was in the mix over the course of two hands and he won one and lost one.
Fernando Brito maneuvered him off the first hand before he maneuvered Jurijus Buinovskis off the same hand.
He and Brito saw a flop where the Portuguese player check-min-raised his 2,000 bet up to 4,000. Czuczor called but folded when Brito led for 7,000 on the turn.
The very next hand Czuczor raised to 700 from mid position and was called by Roberto Romanello and Matthew Frankland before Jurijus Buinovskis three-bet up to 2,150 from the small blind. Czuczor was having none of it and four-bet to 4,800. This forced out the Brits but not the Lithuanian who called , leaving himself with only 7,000 back.
The flop came and Buinovskis check-folded to a 10,000 bet. He actually open folded only to be shown by the Hungarian.
There are a hell of a lot of Swedish players here today and one of them, Robert Brofeldt, raised to 600 from under the gun and Phidias Georgious called to his direct left. Players folded like dominoes until Terje Markhus called in the big blind.
Flop: and all three players checked.
Turn:
Markhus led out of the big blind with a bet of 1,350, Brofeldt folded and Georgious snap-called.
River:
Markhus bet 2,100 and again Georgious snap-called.
Jeremy Nock and Joe Ebanks have increased their stacks a little on their respective tables.
On Table 5 the action folded around to Team PokerStars Pro Arnaud Mattern on the button and he wasted little time in making it 750 to play. Yurius Sepman shaped to at least call from the small blind but he ultimately folded. Nock, in the big blind, moved a tower of chips forward to put Mattern all in but he did not take the bait and he mucked his hand.
Over on Table 3 Ebanks raised to 700 from under the gun and the only player to call him was Albert Mikhailyta, who was seated in the small blind. Both players checked the flop and again as the was placed out on the turn but when Mikhailyta checked the arrival of the on the river, Ebanks bet 1,500 and took down the pot.
