Guigon Axes Parsons with Aces

After Bernard Guigon raised to 26,000 from the hijack seat and Jason Wheeler called from the cutoff, Philip Parsons reraised to 81,000 on the button. The blinds passed and Guigon was back up. He took a minute or two, then stacked up a pile of chips for a reraise to 246,000. Wheeler quickly got out of the way and then Parsons reraised all in for around 440,000. A quick call came from Guigon and he tabled the mother of all hands with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. Parsons held the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

Parsons was in need of a miracle, but only ended up drawing dead by the turn as the board ran out {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Spades}{5-Spades} to eliminate him. Guigon scooped the big pot and moved to 1.2 million in chips.

Nothing Mock Tudor About Grangure

Tudor Grangure just hit a dream flop to double through chip leader Vadzim Markushevski.

The pot was limped pre flop and three players saw a {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} flop appear. Markushevski led for 27,000 from the small blind and was raised to 60,000 by Grangure in the big blind. The third player folded before Markushevski shoved and was immediately called by Grangure for 341,000.

Markushevski: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} for top pair and flush draw.
Grangure: {j-Spades}{5-Spades} for a made flush.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

Amit Makhija Eliminates Vasili Firsau

Michael Dietrich raised to 26,000 from under the gun, Ben Vinson three-bet to 64,000 in the next seat, Amit Makhila four-bet jammed for 196,000 in the hijack seat and Vasili Firsau also moved all-in from the cutoff. The action folded around to Vinson and he asked for a count of Makhija's stack as it was the bigger of the two. After a short while Vinson folded and left Makhija and Firsau to their own devices.

Makhija{A-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Firsau{Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}

The flop {J-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {2-Spades} changed nothing, but the {K-Diamonds} on the turn certainly did. Makhija took the lead and when the {9-Spades} hit the river his double up was complete. Firsau left the party in 29th place.

Bonomo's Double Dream Over

Justin Bonomo started the level as the short stack with 125,000 and got his way all the way up to 418,000 and then it all went very wrong.

This happened on the TV table so the details are vague. What we do know is that Bonomo shoved for 554,000 before Geert-Jan Potijk and Andrew Pantling shoved behind.

Bonomo: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Potijk: {q-}{q-}
Pantling: {a-}{k-}

We didn't catch the board but it seemed to run blank.

Franck Blanc Has Been Eliminated

Jason Wheeler is a dream stealer today. His latest victim is Franck Blanc and this is how the end came for the larger than life Frenchman.

We joined the action on a flop of {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} between Franck Blanc and Clayton Mozdzen. Mozdzen held {10-Spades} {10-Hearts} and Blanc was chasing the flush draw holding {K-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. The heart never materialised and as Mozdzen moved up to 710,000, Blanc moved down to 235,000.

Then a few hands later Jason Wheeler opened up in 2nd position with {10-Spades} {10-Clubs} and Blanc moved all-in from the button with {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}. The board ran out {7-Hearts} {7-Spades} {4-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {A-Spades} and Blanc was out. Wheeler glides up to 870,000.
