Tabatabaei Find a River Call

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Reza Tabatabaei raised to 60,000 in the hijack seat and Mohsin Charania flicked in the call from the big blind. The flop was {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {8-Spades} and Charania check-called a 100,000 Tabatabaei bet. The turn of {10-Hearts} was checked through and the last card was the {5-Hearts}. Charania took the betting lead for 80,000 and Tabatabaei made the call.

Tabatabaei{A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}
Charania{Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}

So it was a good call by Tabatabaei and he hauled in the pot.

A Charania Double Up

Andoni Larrabe Sánchez raised to 50,000 in the cutoff and Mohsin Charania moved all-in from the button. Sanchez asked for the count, and after learning it was 471,000, decided to make the call.

Charania{A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
Sanchez{6-Diamonds} {6-Spades}

Charania didn't feel lucky as he threw his player i.d card into the mix as well, but it was all for naught as he spiked his ace on the flop to secure his double up.

Board: {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {5-Hearts}

Dietrich Pays Sanchez Off

Michael Dietrich raised to 50,000 on the button and Andoni Larrabe Sánchez called in the big blind. The flop was {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {2-Clubs} and both players checked. On the turn we saw the {7-Hearts} and Sanchez led for 65,000 with Dietrich making the call. The river is the {4-Clubs} and Sanchez led once more, this time for 125,000 and Dietrich paid his dues. Sanchez turned over {J-Spades} {9-Hearts} for top pair and Dietrich mucked his hand.

One of the Strangest Double Ups I've Ever Seen

I still can't quite believe the hand I saw that enabled Jesse Martin to double up.

Dan Abouaf raised to 56,000 from the cut-off and watched as Jesse Martin three-bet to 262,000 from the cut-off. Abouaf though for two minutes and then just called, to a few raised eyebrows from those not in the hand.

The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Abouaf moved all-in, snapped off by Martin.

As the cameras moved in to film, Martin told his opponent that he had a set. Abouaf's reply came, "Good for you."

Martin: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for middle set.
Abouaf: {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for bottom pair!

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to make Abouaf trips, but it also filled up Martin.

No one could really believe what they just saw. It's not they're playing for €1.5 million or anything.

Dan Abouaf

Intrepid reporter MarcC has just reported on one of the strangest double ups he had ever seen and it involved Dan Abouaf. A few hands later and we can report that Dan Abouaf is out. He moved all-in with pocket treys and was called by Rodrigo Caprioli holding pocket sevens. The board was three-less and Abouaf was out in 22nd place earning €40,000 for his troubles.
