Cannatella vs. Bevand

Manuel Bevand opened under the gun to 400 only to have Trishelle Cannatella, who was next to act, make it 1,100 to go. Action folded all the way back around to Bevand, he called, and the flop fell {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Bevand declined the opportunity to bet, and then quietly folded when Cannatella bet 2,100. It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us an excuse to update you on both their counts.

Steady Eddy

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Eddy Sabat had three-bet preflop to 1,575 against Peter Jetten before continuing with a 1,100 bet on the {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} flop. Jetten made the call but then both players checked the {A-Clubs} turn and the {Q-Spades} river.

Sabat opened {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and it was enough to win the pot as Jetten mucked. It's a tough looking little corner there with Dan Shak also around.

Retterholt Rivers Set of Kings to Crack Dion's Aces

With around 7,000 in the pot and a board reading {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades}, Yann Dion bet 3,000 from the big blind and received a call from Norway's Steffen Retterholt. When the {K-Diamonds} was put out on the river, Dion grabbed his remaining 11,000 and tossed them in the pot. Retterholt snap called and said, "Sorry," before turning over {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for a rivered set of kings.

A resigned Dion flipped over {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}. "I knew that's what you had. Sorry," Retterholt said. Dion seemed in good spirits, despite the bad beat, as he exited the tournament area.

Hit the Mat

Former EPT winner Antonio Matias lost a 45,000 pot to David Singontiko when they were both very happy to get all their chips in on the river of a {3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} board. Matias displayed {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} but was pretty upset to see Singontiko's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} to win the huge pot.

Matias had about 15,000 left after that hand but has since been eliminated.

Sinel Keeps Bleeding

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Anton Sinel from Romania had some tough luck lately. Steaming after loosing a big pot to Steven Silverman he immediately got into another one along with the 2010 EPT Prague winner Robberto Romanello, Alessandro Sarro from Italy and again, Silverman.

Silverman was the original raiser betting 600 and the rest three called. The flop went {7-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {6-Spades} and Sarro bet 1,250. Sinel made the call and both Romanello and Silverman folded.

Sarro continued for 2,350 on the {A-Clubs} turn and Sinel called again. The Italian fired another 3,650 after the dealer opened {8-Spades} on the river and Sinel made the call. Sarro flipped {6-Clubs} {6-Hearts} for a set and Sinel mucked in disappointment.

You On Tilt, Mate?

Jonathan Karamalikis is one of Australia's biggest poker talents. He endured a torrid time on the felt during his last European poker trip, but this one has started off much better for him. He made the final table of the Estrellas High Roller event last night, and he's off to a great start today. He also has the bonus of putting Chico Lopez Manuel Angel on tilt after he forced him off a better hand.

The flop was out as {8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Angel check-called a 2,800 bet to see the {9-Hearts} where he check-called a 5,300 bet.

The river fell as {2-Spades} and Karamalikis bet a relatively small 6,000. Angel looked frustrated and then muttered something about it being a cooler before folding {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a set face-up.

Karamalikis opened {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and that prompted the Spaniard to storm off waving his hands in the air.

A Revamped Bonin

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the turn of a {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} board David Vamplew check-raised to 4,050 against Clement Bonin's initial bet of 1,800 which the Frenchman called after some contemplation. Vamplew then bet just 2,200 on the {J-Hearts} river and Bonin shoved for around 8,500 in total.

Vamplew instantly folded and Bonin proudly showed {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} declaring he was bluffing which had the Scotsman slightly bemused.
