Quentin Roussey Up Over 200,000

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Quentin Roussey
Quentin Roussey

A player in middle position opened to 1,400 and Quentin Roussey called from the next position.

Roussey's stack has been soaring over the past few levels, and his relentless aggression has seen his stack move over the 200,000 mark with just under two levels in the day left.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and his opponent checked to him, and Roussey bet 2,100. His opponent called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and his opponent again check-called a bet from Roussey, this time for 3,900.

The river was the {k-Spades} and both players checked.

His opponent was apprehensive to show his cards, and in fact Roussey beat him to showdown with {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a pair of jacks. Eventually his opponent did flash {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for busted straight and flush draws, as his cards headed to the muck, and the pot headed to Roussey.

With that pot, the Russian moved up to 140,000 and holds one of the largest stacks in the room as we head into the break.

Louis Salter Eliminated by Achille Voltolina

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

With the board reading {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} Achille Voltolina had bet 8,000 and Louis Salter had moved all in over the top for just under 15,000.

Achille Voltolina, who finished second in the senior's event earlier this week for €24,930, has a peculiar habit of humming and talking to himself as he ponders his decisions. In this hand he lined out each chip required to make the call according to their denomination. The dealer noticed and inquired as to whether he was in fact calling.

"No, these here," said Voltolina, with an over-the-top hand gesture to where his chips were in relation to the betting line.

In the end, Voltolina sang along to himself as he stacked each set of chips on top of one another and called.

Salter showed {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for two pair, and Voltolina turned over {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for ace-high and a flush draw, and attempted to place the {9-Hearts} in the space where the river was to be dealt. The dealer moved the card and dealt the river, which was the {8-Hearts}. Salter got to his feet and shook Voltolina's hand and exited the tournament room.

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

A played open-shoved for 20 big blinds in middle position. Robin Ylitato, who won a €1,000 event earlier this week in Barcelona, called from the small blind, but folded when Alex DiFelice reshoved from the big blind.

DeFelice had {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and held up against {A-Spades}{4-Spades} on a sweaty board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, eliminating his opponent.

Jonathan Concepcion Wins Battle Of Wits

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Jonathan Concepcion raised to 900 under the gun and a player in middle position called. Zeus Post three-bet to 3,400 from the cutoff. Concepcion cut out a four-bet to 8,900, which got rid of the third player.

Post wasn't done with the hand though, as he cut out a five-bet to 17,400. Concepcion moved all in, putting Post to a decision for 50,000 more. It didn't come to that, as Post's hand instantly hit the muck after seeing Concepcion's shove.

We weren't there to witness it, but our Portuguese colleagues informed us that Daniel Negreanu has left the building.

The Canadian PokerStars Team Pro called in the small blind, and Julio Ribeiro checked his big blind.

The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Negreanu checked to his opponent who bet 500 and Negreanu called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Negreanu check-called a bet of 2,800 from his opponent.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and Negreanu checked. Ribeiro then moved all in, and Negreanu called.

Negreanu showed {9-}{6-} for two pair, but Riberio had him beat with {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a higher two pair.
