Full House for Dominik Panka

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Polish pro Dominik Panka is seated in the secondary room of the Main Event today and has had an indifferent start. Panka, who won the 2014 PCA and final tabled the inaugural EPT Malta Main Event, was facing a board of {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. His opponent who was in the small blind checked to Panka, who was in the big blind and the Polish player bet 5,100 into a pot of around 9,000.

His opponent thought for a minute or two before calling, and Panka unveiled {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a rivered full house and his opponent mucked.

Naoya Kihara Starts with a Smile

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Naoya Kihara is rarely seen without a smile on his face. The jovial member of PokerStars Team Online, who became Japan's first WSOP bracelet winner in 2015 is in the field today and has started strongly.

In this hand Gabor Adam opened to 350 in early position, and picked up four callers. Kihara was seated in the big blind and three-bet to 2,500. Adam muttered something under his breath and folded, followed in turn by each of the four callers. Kihara smiled and double-checked his cards, before exposing the {2-Diamonds} and raking in the pot.

Kihara is up to 40,000 in chips shortly before the first break of the day.

Here in Barcelona, Cate Hall is making her debut at the EPT circuit. The American lawyer-turned-poker-pro just took a pot off Raoul Refos to chip up some more. On a {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} board, Hall bet 2,200 in a pot of over 2,500, enough to see Refos' hand fly into the muck.
