Seidel Works on a Miracle

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Mohsin Charania shoved for 69,500 from under the gun with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Erik Seidel called with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} on the button. The board {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} left Seidel short on just 13,000 and he doubled up for 12,000 the next hand with {A-Spades}{5-Spades} against Charania's {J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} in the big blind.

Soon after, Seidel shoved for 30,000 with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Daniel Dvoress failed to get there with {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} on a board of {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.

Shak Can't Win From Ace-Queen, Can't Win With Ace-Queen

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Dan Shak made it 12,000 acting out of the hijack, and saw Ramin Hajiyev three bet all in from the small blind for 69,500. Shak thought about it for a bit, and eventually called.

Dan Shak: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Ramin Hajiyev: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

"Ah, the worst possible hand" said Shak while the dealer got underway dealing the board: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Shak rivered a king but it wasn't good enough.

Not much later, Shak got the remainder of his chips in with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} himself, but it wouldn't do him any good. He was up against Dan Cates who had {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and would not get any help on {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Cates meanwhile is up to 560,000.

Kenney Knocks Out Troyanovskiy

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Bryn Kenney opened the action with an under the gun raise. It folded around to Vladimir Troyanovskiy in the big blind and the Russian high roller shoved for around 70,000. Kenney made a quick call and gave his neighbor the bad news right away by revealing his aces.

Vladimir Troyanovskiy: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Bryn Kenney: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Troyanovskiy made his exit.

Back to the Drawing Board for Nitsche

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Rafael Da Silva Moraes raised to 12,000 and Dominik Nitsche on the button as well as Tobias Reinkemeier in the big blind called. On the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, the action was checked to Nitsche and the German bet 22,000. Only Moraes called before check-calling another 45,000 on the {6-Spades} turn.

The dealer burned and turned the {J-Hearts} river as last community card and this time Nitsche checked behind. Moraes flashed {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights and that earned the pot. Nitsche is back down to starting stack now.

Bonzon Gets Some Back

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Mike McDonald raised to 13,000 and David Peters three-bet to 27,000 from one seat over. In the cutoff, Michael Bonzon called and McDonald folded. On the {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, Peters checked and then folded when Bonzon made it 65,000 to go.

Dong Zhao lost some change after his recent double up on the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} turn. The Chinese bet 25,000 out of the small blind and Timothy Adams raised to 57,000 to claim the pot without further resistance.

Zhao Doubles

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

As we arrived on the table, big blind Dong Zhao was already all in and the decision was on (presumed initial raiser) Tobias Reinkemeier. There were already some chips in the middle, and it was 148,000 more for Reinkemeier to call. The German high roller thought about it for a bit before he called.

Tobias Reinkemeier: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Dong Zhao: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Zhao doubled.

That Escalated Quickly

Level 9 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

John Juanda and Mikita Badziakouski headed to a flop of {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs} and there were around 60,000 chips in the middle. Badziakouski bet, Juanda shoved and the Belorussian called.

Juanda: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Badziakouski: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}

The {6-Spades} turn and {K-Hearts} river saw Juanda bust the tournament in less than 10 minutes after showing up at the very last minute.

Rainer Kempe got his short stack in with {A-Spades}{3-Spades} and Byron Kaverman called from one seat over with the superior {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Neither player hit anything on the board {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and that was it for Kempe.

Kho goes K.O.

Level 9 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Kitson Kho got the last 95,000 chips in with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} against the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts} of Luc Greenwood. The latter was behind, but made a nine-high straight on the turn to knock out Kho.

Watson Doubles Through Kho

Level 9 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Mike Watson and Kitson Kho got it in before the flop for another edition of the classic race. Watson would come out on top with his {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} this time, spiking a king against Kho's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Kho was leading this tournament not too long ago, but is now one of the shorter stacks.
