Break

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Players are going on their first break of the day. When they return the blinds will be 100/200 with a 200 button ante. The tournament clock shows there are 290/301 players remaining.

Loosli Chipping Up

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

A player in early position raised to 400 and Tamer Kamel three-bet to 1,200. Sylvain Loosli then four-bet to 3,600 out of the blinds and Kamel was the only caller.

Loosli bet 4,200 on a {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and Kamel called. The turn was the {6-Spades} and Loosli bet 7,100. Again, Kamel called.

The river was the {j-Spades} and Loosli moved all in for around 17,000. Kamel thought about his decision before folding.

Big Names Fall Early On

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Kalidou Sow
Kalidou Sow

According to Omar Lakhdari, Kalidou Sow was ousted when he got involved into a check-raise pot with {A-}{9-} for top pair on the {A-}{10-}{7-} flop only for his opponent to turn a straight with {9-}{8-} when a six appeared. Sow has not re-entered yet, and the same also applies for Jason Wheeler.

Sergei Petrushevskii is already on his second bullet for the day while Marcin Chmielewski and Luciana Manolea sat down for their first attempt.

Borlot and Studer Chip Up

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

On the river of a board {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}, Xixiang Luo mucked the {9-Spades} to a bet of 2,500 by Nicolas Borlot and the call of Shakhabiddin Muradov, and Borlot scooped the pot with the {A-Spades}{8-Hearts} for the nut flush.

One table over, a battle of Switzerland emerged with Daniel Studer and Dinesh Alt both investing plenty of chips preflop already. On the {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Alt in the small blind check-called a bet of 3,600 and the {J-Diamonds} turn and {5-Spades} river were checked through. Studer turned over the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and that won the pot.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Andreas Klatt, Harry Lodge and Josip Simunic are back for more after busting on Day 1a. Also in the field is former champion Jan Bendik.

Baltazar Missing

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Isabel Baltazar final-tabled the National Championship €2,200 High Roller and earned €28,580 for her 7th place finish. However, the start into Day 1b of the €5,300 Main Event hasn't been as pleasant as she was just spotted leaving the tournament area. According to Harry Lodge she called the four-bet shove of Shigeo Haseba for her last 16,000 with pocket queens and failed to win the flip against the {A-}{K-} of the Japanese.

Triple Up for El Asmar

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

On the three-way turn of {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}, Hady El Asmar moved all in for just 6,000 out of the small blind and was called by Paul Theobald from under the gun and Martin Finger in late position. The two remaining active players checked the {6-Diamonds} river and El Asmar's {8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for the flush scored the triple up. "I had a weaker flush," Finger added and dropped back to just over starting stack.

Finger and Conan Chip Up

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

On the river of a completed board of {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Hady El Asmar called a bet of 600 before Martin Finger as third player in the hand raised it up to 4,000. The bettor folded and El Asmar called to get shown {K-Clubs}{8-Spades} by Finger. El Asmar turned over the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for the inferior kicker and dropped to fewer than one third of the starting stack.

Arthur Conan also bumped up his stack nicely. On the {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} river, the young Frenchman bet 6,000 and Hicham Moussa called, then mucked when he was shown {A-Spades}{3-Clubs} for two pair.
