Almeida Departs After the Break

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Joris Ruijs and Matthias De Meulder
Joris Ruijs and Matthias De Meulder

The flop was down {4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}, and João Almeida moved all in from the small blind. Joris Ruijs was in middle position and called.

Joris Ruijs:{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
João Almeida: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Almeida had the lead but had to dodge a lot of outs with Ruijs holding a flush draw and one overcard. The turn was not good for Almeida as Ruijs paired the {J-} to take the lead. The river {6-Diamonds} sealed his fate to exit in 31st place for €14,450.

Geilich Doubles Through Gunnarsson

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Ludovic Geilich: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Arni Gunnarsson: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Gunnarsson missed the {8-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board and forked close to a milly over to the Scotsman.

Taieb Gets Wang the Second Time

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

Despite the earlier triple up, Michael Wang still became the first player to bust after the break. This time, Roger Taieb did succeed in knocking the bracelet winner out.

Taieb opened the action to 250,000 from early position, Wang shoved around 1,600,000 from late position and Taieb snap-called.

Michael Wang: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Roger Taieb: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

There wasn't any connection for Wang on a {4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} board and he bowed out in 32nd for €11,950. The remaining players are now guaranteed at least €14,450.

Wang Triples Up

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

In the first hand after the break, Michael Wang was all in for his last 505,000 and called by Johan Verhagen and Roger Taieb. The two active players checked it down on {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

De Silva Eliminated

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Upeshka De Silva
Upeshka De Silva

Jan Dentler raised to 230,000 from middle position and Upeshka De Silva three-bet to 1,775,000, which left him with just 40,000 behind. After the floor confirmed De Silva was not all-in despite having less than one ante behind, Dentler called.

After the flop fell {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} Dentler put De Silva all-in.

"That is not a good flop for me," said De Silva, before he put the rest of his stack into the middle.

Dentler held {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and De Silva {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. The turn {8-Clubs} and river {3-Hearts} was no help for De Silva, and he was eliminated in 33rd place for €11,950.

Geilich From the Brink

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Ludovic_Geilich
Ludovic_Geilich

After getting his aces cracked and doubling up Jean Fontaine shortly after, Ludovic Geilich was left with just 465,000. He posted the big blind ante and defended against a raise from Jerome L'Hostis, which left him with just 140,000.

On the {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, Geilich took his time before checking and calling all in, in order to snatch a payjump. The called clock prevented that from happening as no other players busted.

Ludovic Geilich: {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Jerome L'Hostis: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

It was nearly over for Geilich but the {5-Clubs} turn and {K-Clubs} river improved him to a flush, giving him a lifeline.
