Double Knockout for Evans

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

"Poker can be so easy," Jerome Evans said with a big grin on the face. He had just picked up the perfect timing to find aces as two shorter stacks in Ji Zhang and Vlado Banicevic got their stacks in for the following showdown.

Ji Zhang: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Vlado Banicevic: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Jerome Evans: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Nothing at all changed on the {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} board as the aces held to eliminate two opponents. The floor was then called as the eight-handed table only had five players left, since Frederik Brink had also departed not long ago.

Kuziv fired 4,000 at the turn and Christoforu called.

Marques Loses Some; Remains Above Average

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

It has been a good day at the office for Portuguese poker pro Pedro Marques so far, as he finished second in the €2,200 Eureka High Roller after cutting a deal. While missing out on the trophy, the deep run was worth another six-figure score and the former EPT Main Event finalist is also off to a good start on Day 1b as well.

Omer Gabay just took a small chunk out of Marques' stack when he check-called the {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} river for 5,500. Marques flashed the {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Gabay had the superior pair with the {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

In a preflop content, Juan Carlos Vecino Duenas was on the cold end of a setup for the final 20,600 chips. His premium pair was dominated by fellow countryman Coto Miguez in the following showdown.

Juan Carlos Vecino Duenas: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Coto Miguez: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop improved Vecino Duenas to a set of jacks and he remained in the lead throughout the {4-Spades} turn and {5-Diamonds} river.
