Sternheimer Holds Tough Against Dvoress

Level 11 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with around 240,000 in the middle, Philip Sternheimer and Daniel Dvoress were heads-up on a board reading {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

Sternheimer checked to Dvoress who bet 80,000 and Sternheimer called to see the {k-Spades} on the river. Both players knuckled the table and Sternheimer tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} which proved to be good enough to win the pot.

Newman Doubles Through Nemeth

Level 11 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action was heads up with {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} on the board when Graeme Newman got his last 201,000 into the middle against Andras Nemeth.

Graeme Newman: {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Andras Nemeth: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-Spades}{3-Spades} and Newman held on with a pair of eights to secure the double and leave Nemeth with just a few big blinds.

Elsewhere in the room, Mike Watson has been eliminated to bring the tournament to two tables.

Dvoress Hero-Calls O'Dwyer

Level 11 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 20,000 on the button and Daniel Dvoress defended from the big blind. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Dvoress check-called a bet of 16,000 from O'Dwyer.

The {2-Hearts} landed on the turn and Dvoress checked again. O'Dwyer tossed in a bet of 51,000 and Dvoress stuck around to see the {4-Clubs} on the river.

A third check led to O'Dwyer sliding in a bet of 95,000, leaving himself with just 5,000 behind. Dvoress went into the tank, using three of his time banks before flicking in a call. O'Dwyer showed {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for jack-high while Dvoress revealed {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a pair of deuces to win the pot.

O'Dwyer was left with crumbs and was seen leaving his seat after the very next hand.

Nemeth Dips, Then Doubles

Level 10 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Andras Nemeth lost a huge chunk of his chips earlier but that wasn't going to deter him from staying active. Nemeth opened to 16,000 from under the gun and was called by Orpen Kisacikoglu on his left.

The flop came {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Nemeth check-called a bet of 10,000 from Kisacikoglu. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {9-Diamonds} on the river.

Nemeth checked again and Kisacikoglu shoved all in. Nemeth called off his stack of 113,000 and tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Kisacikoglu showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, not quite enough to over take Nemeth's hand.

Phua Wants a Double

Level 10 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Juan Pardo raised to 17,000 from late position and Philip Sternheimer called from the cutoff. Paul Phua shoved for 220,000 from the small blind and Pardo folded before Sternheimer went into the tank. Sternheimer considered his options for the full shot clock before he tossed his cards in the muck to give Phua the pot.

Greenwood Finds an Unlikely Double

Level 10 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised it up to 18,000 in the cutoff and Christoph Vogelsang defended from the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Vogelsang checked to Greenwood who bet 12,000. Vogelsang check-raised to 45,000 and Greenwood called.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and Vogelsang sized up a bet of 80,000 this time. Greenwood still called and the {4-Hearts} completed the board. Vogelsang checked this time and Greenwood slid out all but one big blind, for a bet of 197,000. Vogelsang looked him up and Greenwood tabled {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for an unlikely flush to scoop the pot.

Kisacikoglu Flips Grafton to the Rail

Level 10 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Orpen Kisacikoglu three-bet to 45,000 on the button. Grafton responded with a four-bet to 100,000 and Kisacikoglu five-bet shoved all in. Grafton called off his stack of around 380,000 and the cards were face up.

Sam Grafton: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Orpen Kisacikoglu: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

They were off to the races and Kisacikoglu took the lead on the {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop. The {10-Spades} on the turn and the {3-Clubs} on the river were no help to Grafton who was eliminated.
