Conan Stays Alive on the River

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs raised to 20,000 from the hijack and Arthur Conan defended his big blind.

The flop came {3-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Conan checked to Ponakovs, who continued for 15,000. Conan raised to 44,000, Ponakovs shoved all in, and Conan called for his last 115,000.

Arthur Conan: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Aleksejs Ponakovs: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Conan was chasing a straight against Ponakovs pocket tens but got no help on the {8-Diamonds} turn. The {a-Diamonds} fell on the river and Conan spiked a pair of aces to double up through the chip leader.

Soyza Finds Money Card

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Michael Soyza
Michael Soyza

Artur Martirosian opened to 22,000 from under the gun and it folded to Michael Soyza in the big blind who made the call.

The flop came {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, Soyza checked and Martirosian continued for 15,000. Soyza elected on a check-raise to 45,000 and Martirosian made the call.

On the {8-Diamonds} turn Soyza bet out 30,000 and Martirosian called. The {9-Hearts} completed the board and without much thought, Soyza moved all in for 115,000. Martirosian called rather quickly and got the bad news when Soyza tabled {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for turned trips and a full double up. Martirosian flashed {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} before tossing it in the muck.

Ponakovs Keeps Climbing, Busts Kisacikoglu

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Orpen Kisacikoglu shoved from under the gun for his last 115,000 and Aleksejs Ponakovs called next to act.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Aleksejs Ponakovs: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} flop was no help to Kisacikoglu, and the {a-Clubs} on the turn left him drawing dead as Ponakovs made top pair. The river brought the {5-Spades} and Kisacikoglu hit the rail.

Burns Scores Double Elimination

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Kahle Burns
Kahle Burns

Kahle Burns opened the action to 22,000 from under the gun. It folded to Laszlo Bujtas who moved all in for his last 11,000 on the button and next to act in the small blind was Dan Smith who three-bet to 62,000. Burns took little time before moving all in over the top, covering the roughly 300,000 stack of Smith. After a few moments, Smith announced call and the cards were tabled.

Laszlo Bujtas: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Dan Smith: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Kahle Burns: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Burns had both Smith and Bujtas well dominated with his better kicker. The board ran out {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and the ace-king high of Burns sent Smith and Bujtas out of the tournament.

Peters Calls Off Against Lefrancois

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

David Peters bet 10,000 on a board of {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{k-Hearts} before Pascal Lefrancois put him all in from under the gun. Peters used a time bank before committing his last 75,000 chips.

Peters showed {k-Spades}{9-Spades} for two pair, but Lefrancois had {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a straight to bust Peters.

Pablo Brito Silva and Mikita Badziakouski also busted shortly after the break, and the final 14 players are now redrawing for the final two tables.

Addamo Out-Muscles Dvoress

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

On the first hand back from break, Daniel Dvoress put his last 103,000 in the middle from the small blind, as well as the plastic flexing arm he uses as a card protector. Michael Addamo began playing with the arm before calling in the big blind.

Daniel Dvoress: {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Michael Addamo: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Addamo made top pair on the {j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop while Dvoress picked up an open-ended straight draw. He couldn't improve any further on the {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} turn and river and hit the rail.
