Martirosian Raises the River; Busts Chidwick

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Artur Martirosian
Artur Martirosian

Artur Martirosian bet 13,000 on a flop of {4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} from middle position and was called by Giovanni Petroni in the small blind.

Both players checked the {8-Spades} turn before Petroni led out for 35,000 on the {9-Clubs} river.

Martirosian came back with a raise to 85,000 and Petroni used a time bank before folding.

The hand earlier, Martirosian and Stephen Chidwick got the rest of Chidwick's 160,000 in the middle on a board of {4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Chidwick had {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the rivered flush, but Martirosian showed {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a higher flush to send Chidwick to the rail.

The {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board ran out all low cards to keep the Argentinian ahead, while Oshea made his exit from the tournament.

Lo Presti Races for His Tournament Life

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Samuele Lo Presti moved all in for his last 140,000 in the big blind and was up against Rui Milhomens in early position:

Samuele Lo Presti: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Rui Milhomens: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Lo Presti needed to win the coin flip to stay alive in the tournament and got a favorable flop of {10-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, hitting two pair. The {9-Hearts} on the turn was safe, while the {q-Diamonds} on the river improved him to a higher two pair and secured the double up.

Big Stacks Collide

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The action was picked up in a large pot of roughly 350,000 on a board showing {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Chino Rheem took his time before checking from the hijack and Gabriel Nedelcu announced a bet of 150,000 on the button.

Rheem went deep in the tank, using several time bank cards.

"You're so lucky, you probably have ace something of hearts", said Rheem while he was deep in thought.

After several minutes, Rheem tossed his cards to the dealer and the big pot was sent to Nedelcu.

Pim Kuipers and Carlos Chang were heads-up on a flop of {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} when Kuipers, in the big blind, bet 70,000 and Chang called from early position.

The turn came the {a-Clubs} and Kuipers led out for another 85,000. Chang quickly called as the {9-Diamonds} fell on the river.

Kuipers this time slowed down and checked and Chang checked behind. Kuipers opened up {8-Hearts}{6-Spades} for the flopped straight as Chang waited a moment to release his hand before flashing a smile and mucking.

"Ready to go all in," Kuipers joked with Chang as he raked in the big pot to climb over 1,000,000.

Noah Boeken

Paulina Loeliger was in the cutoff in a heads-up pot against hijack player Stanislavs Macugins on a board of {6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Loeliger checked on the flop and her opponent bet 33,000. Loeliger called.

Loeliger checked again on the {3-Spades} turn and Macugins checked back. The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Loeliger used a time bank before leading out with a bet of 80,000. Macugins folded.

A few tables over, Joris Ruijs opened to 14,000 from the button and was met with a three-bet jam for 89,000 from Noah Boeken in the small blind. Ruijs flashed the {a-Clubs} before folding, while Boeken was kind enough to show {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

"I'm telling ya, this is a good formula," Ruijs said after jamming with the Fishhooks. "Tens, I'd have just called."

Spragg Eliminated on Classic Flip

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Benjamin Spragg
Benjamin Spragg

PokerStars Ambassador Benjamin Spragg had gotten his remaining stack of roughly 110,000 in on the button and was at risk against Jimmy Guerrero in middle position.

Benjamin Spragg: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Jimmy Guerrero: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

It was a classic flip, and the popular streamer known as "Spraggy" fell behind on the {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. The {a-Diamonds} turn gave a bit of extra hope with a flush draw, but the {2-Spades} river bricked out as Spragg's ladies were the death of him, and the last red-spade representative in the field was eliminated.

Paulina Loeliger

The action was picked up in a pot of roughly 80,000 on a flop of {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Tien Dung Pham bet out 25,000 from the big blind and Paulina "Poker Bunny" Loeliger made the call on the button.

The {7-Spades} hit the turn and Pham checked to Loeliger who bet 50,000, which was called. The {3-Clubs} completed the board and Pham checked again. Loeliger took a moment before moving all in, covering the 90,000 stack of Pham who went deep in the tank. After using several time bank cards, Pham elected on a fold, sending the huge pot to Loelinger.

After losing that pot and being short stacked, Pham found himself all in a few hands later and was eliminated.
