Orpaz Takes a Monster Off Caballero Pinna

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Tom Orpaz
Tom Orpaz

Tom Orpaz and Victor Caballero Pinna both checked on the {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop before Orpaz bet 4,000 on the {5-Spades} turn.

Caballero Pinna, in the big blind, raised to 9,600 and Orpaz came back with a re-raise to 18,000. Caballero Pinna called and checked when the river came the {j-Hearts}.

Orpaz fired out another 25,000 and Caballero Pinna went into the tank for several minutes, counting out his remaining chips and muttering to himself before eventually sticking in the chips to call.

"Just a jack," Orpaz said as he turned over {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Caballero Pinna could only shake his head before mucking.

Brown Makes Trips

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action started when Mohamed Kerkeni opened to 1,500 from early position and only Tyrelle Anderson Brown made the call on the button.

The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Kerkeni check-called a bet of 2,500 from Brown. The {7-Hearts} hit the turn and both players checked their option.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Kerkeni checked for a third time. Brown decided on a bet of 5,000, and without much thought Kerkeni flicked in a call.

Brown rolled over {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for turned trips and Kerkeni mucked his hand, awarding the pot to Brown. A few hands later Kerkeni got his last 4,600 in and was eliminated.

Sjogren Doesn't Realize He Doubled

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Fadi Issa bet 8,000 on a flop of {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Nicholas Sjogren then moved all in for 24,300 and Issa called after confirming the amount.

Issa showed {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} but gave a frustrated sigh when Sjogren turned over {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn improved Issa to two pair and left Sjogren needing to hit the river to improve and stay alive.

The river came the {6-Spades} and Sjogren got up to leave before being reminded he had hit a better two pair to survive.

At the same table, Wuai-Cheng Tsang is sitting on a tournament chip lead-contending stack of around 200,000.

Borlan Quadruples Back to Almost Starting Stack

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Dan Borlan
Dan Borlan

After Virgil Grecu opened to 1,300 and picked up calls from both Alexandra Radinger and Adrien Bugniard, Dan Borlan decided to push his remaining ten big blinds into the middle and all three remaining players called to see the flop.

On the {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, both Grecu and Radinger checked. Bugniard thought for a second before counting out a bet of 13,500 that caused both Grecu and Radinger to fold their hands and the remaining two players' cards were on their backs.

Dan Borlan: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Adrien Bugniard: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The turn came {6-Spades} and the {5-Diamonds} on the river saw Borlan quadruple up with two pair, jacks and fives.

Kerkeni Takes it Down

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

On a three-way flop of {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, small blind David Urban and big blind Adi Rajkovic both checked to Mohamed Kerkeni in the hijack, who then bet 1,000 into the pot of 9,000.

Urban and Rajkovic both called and the trio saw the {3-Diamonds} come out on the turn.

Action checked to Kerkeni once more and he moved all in with his last 5,000 chip. Urban quickly folded and Rajkovic took a moment before he shook his head and threw his cards into the muck.

"Well that was an interesting hand," Urban remarked as Kerkeni stacked his new chips.

Balasch Puts Max Pressure

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action started when Alexander Van Der Swaluw opened to 1,200 from middle position. Prakesh Mariappan Austin made the call from the hijack and Bernat Balasch elected on a three-bet to 4,500 from the cutoff which was only called by Austin.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Austin check-called a bet of 7,700 from Balasch. On the {6-Diamonds} turn Austin checked again and Balasch put some thought in before jamming all in for 66,700, well covering Austin's 27,000 remaining chips.

After much deliberation Austin mucked his hand and the large pot was shipped to Balasch who has closed in on a six-figure stack.

Douair Hurts Beckmann, Stoyanov Takes the Rest

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Simon Beckmann had a bet of 6,000 in front of him from the button before big blind Abedel Douair moved all in for around 15,000. Beckmann called.

Abedel Douair: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Simon Beckmann: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Douair leapt in front on the {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, hitting two pair. The board ran out {10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and he doubled up.

Left with around 10,000, Beckmann got the rest of his chips in the next hand and was up against Martin Stoyanov. Beckmann showed {a-Spades}{9-Hearts} and needed to win the race against Stoyanov's {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to stay alive.

The {3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board was no help and Beckmann headed for the exit.
