Lau on Right Side of Preflop Cooler

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ka Kwan Lau
Ka Kwan Lau

Miroslav Alilovic raised 4,500 in early position and Ka Kwan Lau three-bet 13,500 next to act. The action folded to Lars Tungel on the button and he dropped a stack of blues across the line for a raise to 85,000. The blinds and Alilovic quickly got out of the way and Lau paused for a few moments before calling off his stack of 65,500.

Ka Kwan Lau: JJ
Lars Tungel: 1010

Lau had Tungel dominated and the J83 flop improved him to a set of jacks. The Q turn meant Tungel wasn't drawing dead as he picked up a gutshot straight draw, but the 5 river was a brick for Lau to collect the double.

Cracked Aces End Khan's Day

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dominik Panka opened to 4,000 from early position and was called by Umar Khan in the cutoff, Sokratis Linaras on the button, and Recep Aydemir in the big blind.

Action checked to Khan on the K25 flop and he bet 8,000. Only Linaras called.

Umar shoved for approximately 20,000 on the 4 turn and Linaras called to put him at risk.

Umar Khan: AA
Sokratis Linaras: KK

Both players had slowplayed their hands preflop, but Linaras ended up with a commanding lead with a set of kings.

The 7 river failed to improve Khan and he was sent to the rail.

Lafontaine Spikes An Ace to Triple

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Luc Lafontaine was all in preflop against Fulvio Ferrero and Alexandru Alman, both of whom had him covered.

Ferrero and Alman checked on the 489 flop and both players checked again on the 4 turn. The A river also checked through and Lafontaine proudly tabled A7 for a pair of aces. It was good as Ferrero showed 33 and Alman showed Q10 as Lafontaine earned the triple up.

Price Spikes The River to End Gomez's Run

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ryan Price opened to 4,500 first-to-act and was called by Ka Kwan Lau in the cutoff. Javier Gomez then shoved for his last 25,000 from the big blind and Price also went all in. Lau quickly folded and hands were revealed.

Javier Gomez: JJ
Ryan Price: A9

Gomez was in good shape with his jacks, and the 643 flop and 5 turn changed nothing; however, the A paired Price's ace on the river — eliminating Gomez in heart-breaking fashion.
