Shortly after losing most of his chips to Grzegorz Kozieja, Bogdan-Andrei Munteanu moved all in for 280,000 from the big blind and Bogdan Berinde called in the cutoff.
Bogdan-Andrei Munteanu: A♥5♥
Bogdan Berinde: K♣K♥
The board ran out 10♣8♦8♠J♠J♦ and Munteanu found nothing to overcome Berinde's kings as he hit the rail.
Bogdan Berinde opened to 50,000 from the hijack and Hwany Lee defended out of the big blind.
Lee checked on the flop of 8♠10♥10♣ and Berinde checked back. Lee checked again on the J♥ turn and Berinde also checked. Lee then led out for 135,000 on the Q♥ river and Berinde laid it down.
The action folded to the button where Karen Nazarian moved all in having both blinds covered. The small blind folded and then after a bit of thought Norbert Seefeldt called for his tournament life.
Norbert Seefeldt: K♠6♠
Karen Nazarian: A♥10♣
The J♠4♣10♦ flop landed and Seefeldt was drawing slim. The 5♠ turn gave him a few more outs in the form of a flush draw but the 4♥ river would not bring any help. Seefeldt hit the rail before the dinner break.
Luka Bojovic opened to 50,000 in the hijack and Adam Rayhaan three-bet to 175,000 in the cutoff. Bojovic then four-bet jammed a stack of 850,000 and Rayhaan called with a bigger stack.
Luka Bojovic: K♠K♦
Adam Rayhaan: Q♠Q♦
Bojovic was on the right end of the preflop cooler and his kings held for a double as the board ran out a safe J♥7♣10♣10♦6♥.
Heads-up on a board of 8♥3♣K♦7♣, Grzegorz Kozieja bet 100,000 from the button and Bogdan-Andrei Munteanu called in early position.
The river came the 3♥ and Kozieja fired out 700,000, sending Munteanu deep into the tank.
Several minutes elapsed off the clock as Munteanu continued to consider the decision. "Will you show if I fold?" he asked Kozieja, who remained silent with the collar of his purple hoodie covering his mouth.
Munteanu eventually tossed in a chip to signify a call and Kozieja showed 7♠7♦ for a set. Munteanu mucked his hand.
"You can show two now," he joked with Kozieja, who raked in the massive pot.
Gaelle Baumann and Hwany Lee are also at this table.
Around 500,000 was already in the pot as Quan Zhou and Metin Yalciner went to the river on a board of 3♠Q♠8♥3♥4♠.
Zhou, on the button, then bet 400,000, enough to put Yalciner all in in the cutoff. Yalciner had around 250,000 remaining and tanked for several minutes, looking around the room and at the tournament clock before throwing in his last chips.
Zhou turned over Q♣J♣ for a pair of queens and Yalciner flashed Q♦7♦ before making his way to the exit.
Grzegorz Kozieja opened in middle position to 55,000. It folded to Gaelle Baumann on the button who called before Hwany Lee defended his big blind.
The 10♦5♦4♦ flop hit the felt and action quickly checked through to an 8♦ turn. It checked to Kozieja who put out a delayed continuation-bet of 50,000. Both of his opponents called.
The 6♦ landed on the river and Lee went into the tank for a moment before gathering enough chips to put in a large over-bet to the tune of 525,000.
Both of his opponents sat in the tank for almost two minutes each but eventually they both found a fold. Could Lee lead for this sizing with anything other than a straight flush?
On Table 7, Marcelo Bonanata in the cutoff and his last 370,000 were called by Taras Khilko in the small blind.
Marcelo Bonanata: K♥Q♠
Taras Khilko: A♠Q♦
Khilko hit an ace on the board of A♥J♣9♥7♦5♣ to take the pot. The dealer had to count both stacks because they were almost even, but Bonanata was slightly covered, so he was eliminated.
