Ketzer Has No Time

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Felipe Ketzer and Tom-Aksel Bedell were fighting for a pot of around 70,000 chips. They had arrived at the turn on QQ8J and Ketzer led for 16,000 from the small blind. Bedell, in the cutoff, paid the same amount.

Ketzer upped the ante to 27,000 once the 8 river hit. However, Bedell had no plans to call this time, as he put forth a big stack of T-5,000 chips and then some, totalling 123,000.

Ketzer had used up all of his time bank chips already. With only a 30-second countdown, he made the decision to fold in the dying seconds.

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Conor Beresford
Conor Beresford

Conor Beresford opened to 13,000 from the hijack and it folded to Alexandru Papazian in the big blind who moved all in for 47,000 total. Beresford asked for a count before making the call with a bigger stack and the cards were shown.

Alexandru Papazian: A8
Conor Beresford: 55

It was essentially a coin-flip preflop, but when the board ran out Q642K, it was the fives for Beresford that held up to send Papazian to the exit.

Zhou Catches a Bluff

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Quan Zhou raised to 11,000 from the cutoff and Dimitar Danchev defended his big blind. The flop was dealt as K23 and Danchev check-called a 10,000 continuation-bet from Zhou.

The A turn then checked around before Danchev led for 8,000 chips on the 5 river. Zhou looked him up and Danchev showed Kx8x for a pair of kings.

Zhou had the better pair, however, as he held AJ. He won a small pot and is keeping his stack stable.

Kisacikoglu Left with Less Than Ten Bigs

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu and Tomas Jozonis were involved in a pot of 60,000 chips. The board was completed up until the turn and read 772K. Kisacikoglu bet out 30,000 from the big blind and Jozonis called.

The J river completed the board and both players checked the third diamond. Jozonis showed K10 and his top pair won him the pot. Kisacikoglu, on the other hand, was left with only 47,000 chips.

On the flop of 10108, Zhou continued for 7,000 and Barbero came along to the J turn. Zhou slowed down with a check and Barbero took a moment before tossing in a bet of 17,000. Zhou quickly folded and the pot was shipped to Barbero.

Nitsche Gets One Through; Haxton Doubles

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Dominik Nitsche raised to 8,000 from under the gun before Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 22,000 from late position. Nitsche responded with a shove but Badziakouski was not interested and he gave up the pot.

A few moments later, Isaac Haxton was all in for his last 70,500 and Adrian Mateos was the one to put him at risk. The rest of the table was out of the way and the cards were already on their backs.

Isaac Haxton: AK
Adrian Mateos: K8

The board ran out 65A58 and Haxton had an easy run to the double with a flush.

Schwartz Sucks Out, But Not For Long

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Luke Schwartz
Luke Schwartz

Luke Schwartz had gotten short and got his last big blinds in from the cutoff. Yuan Li was in the small blind and went all in as well, for just over 100,000. Alexandros Kolonias folded his big blind and the pair's holdings were revealed.

Luke Schwartz: KxJx
Yuan Li: QxQx

Luke drilled a pair on the 9K8 flop to vault into the lead. The 2 turn was a big blank, but the Q river changed the entire outcome of the hand.

Li shot up from his seat and cheered in excitement. His set would be the victor in this hand and he chipped up to a more comfortable 36 big blinds. Schwartz, meanwhile, would be the 46th place finisher in the €25,000 EPT High Roller.

After Petrangelo checked again, Ketzer fired 54,000 into the middle and that was good enough to take the pot.
