O'Dwyer Hits the Rail

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Denis Simionel opened to 5,000 from under the gun before Steve O'Dwyer moved all in for 27,500 from middle position. Jean Besancon then jammed for 46,600 on his direct left. Miguel Capriles then called off his stack of 25,000 from the hijack before Simionel opted the fold.

Miguel Capriles: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Steve O'Dwyer: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Jean Besancon: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Capriles collected a triple up after he had the best hand following the {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} runout. Besancon then collected O'Dwyer's bounty as his ace-high beat the Irishman's king-high. A few moments later, Besancon was eliminated.

Kim Flops an Ace to Stay Alive

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Brian Kim pushed all in for his last 33,000 chips in middle position and was called by Romain Le Dantec in the big blind.

Brian Kim: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Romain Le Dantec: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} to give both players a pair but Kim's aces were out front. The {4-Hearts} on the turn and the {7-Hearts} on the river changed nothing as Kim scored a double up.

Veldhuis Checks It Back

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Paul Tedeschi had opened from under the gun to 5,000 when Lex Veldhuis put in the three-bet to 15,000 from middle position. Avner Sebbah decided to cold call in the big blind, while Tedeschi folded his cards.

The flop was th3c5h and Sebbah checked to Veldhuis, who put out a continuation-bet of 18,000. Sebbah called and the pair saw the {j-Diamonds} fall on the turn. Sebbah checked again and this time Veldhuis checked back. The same happened on the {k-Diamonds} river and Sebbah showed down {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

Veldhuis showed the cautiously played {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for the winner and is now in profit from the start of the day.

Ultimate Cooler Doubles Ricci

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Andrea Ricci raised from middle position to 5,000, which Peter Jaksland reraised to 13,000 from the hijack. The action folded back to Ricci, who put in a four-bet to 30,000, around half of his total stack. Jaksland did not have to think long before he put in the rest, and Ricci snap called.

Andrea Ricci: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Peter Jaksland: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The classic hold 'em cooler in favor of Ricci, who had an easy double-up when the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

Lijo Doubles Through Marques

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Lander Lijo opened to 5,000 in middle position and Andre Marques reraised to 15,000 in the cutoff. Lijo called and they went heads-up to a flop of {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.

Lijo checked to Marques who continued with a bet of 9,000. Lijo check-raised all in for 65,000 and Marques asked for a count before making the call.

Lander Lijo: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Andre Marques: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Lijo's pair of sixes was in the lead and the {10-Clubs} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river secured a double-up for him.

Aces Cracked Ousts Kamel

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Tamer Kamel
Tamer Kamel

Jamil Wakil opened to 5,500 from early positon and was called by Georgi Sandev on his direct left. Danut Chisu then made it 46,000 on the bottom. Tamer Kamel called of his stack of 36,000 from the small blind. Wakil and Sandev opted to fold.

Tamer Kamel: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Danut Chisu: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Kamel was in great shape for a double up after being on the right side of a preflop cooler. It looked liked the pot was heading to his direction following the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and {q-Hearts} river. However, the {k-Hearts} river improved Chisu to a full house and secured the elimination.

"I can do it too," chimed a delighted Chisu.

Wakil and Sandev were chatting as the hand played out and they both revealed that they had folded pocket tens.
