"Nine-High Like a Boss Wins Again"

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

In a heads-up pot on a board of {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Grzegorz Wyraz checked and Mikael Ifergan bet 1,300. Wyraz check-raised to 5,700 and Ifergan called.

The {6-Clubs} river completed the board and Wyraz bet 10,700. Ifergan called and then mucked when his opponent showed a straight with {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, a holding that got a rise out of the always talkative William Kassouf.

"Nine-high like a boss wins again?!" laughed Kassouf.

Stocker's Stack Goes Up

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Jochen Kaiser was all in for his last 6,400 from middle position and was at risk to Andreas Stocker, who was on his immediate left.

Andreas Stocker: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Jochen Kaiser: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades} gave Kaiser a gutshot to Broadway to go along with his overcards, and the {q-Spades} turn brought in some counterfeit outs. However the {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Kaiser headed to the rail.

Darmon Doubles in Five-Bet Pot

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Bernard Darmon opened from under the gun and Nicolas Papy flat-called in the small blind before Florian Lebaigue three-bet to 3,500 in the big blind. Darmon four-bet to 13,000 and Papy went in the tank before five-bet jamming. Lebaigue shook and scratched his head before folding, while Darmon called off for 21,400.

Bernard Darmon: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Nicolas Papy: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Darmon was far ahead but the board of {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} created some chop possibilities before the {k-Spades} landed on the river to improve Darmon to a set as he more than doubled.

Romanello Pays Off Vergnaud

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Roberto Romanello
Roberto Romanello

Jacques Vergnaud opened to 1,200 from middle position and Ville Jantunen called on his immediate left. Roberto Romanello then made it 2,900 from the button. Vergnaud four-bet to 11,000 and only Romanello called.

Romanello called bets of 6,000 and 7,000 on the flop and turn for the final board to show {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Vergnaud fired a third barrel of 10,000 and Romanello called.

Vergnaud tabled his {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} for a pair of kings and Romanello mucked.

No Sweat for Banic

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Ivan Banic
Ivan Banic

Action was caught on the {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop with around 10,000 in the pot.

Ivan Banic and Giorgio Bernasconi checked from early and middle positon respectively before Fangzhong Yang made it 3,600 from the hijack. Banic called before Bernasconi clicked it 12,500.

Yang called and then Banic jammed for 20,700. Bernasconi seemed displeased and folded while Yang called again.

Ivan Banic: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Fangzhong Yang: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Banic had the best of it with a set of eights but Yang had the nut flush draw. There was no need to sweat for Banic as the {8-Clubs} turn gave him quads and the checkmark. The inconsequential {3-Spades} completed the board.
