Savio Chips Up Further Thanks to Brandi

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Heads-up to the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Hearts} turn, Iacopo Brandi checked and subsequently called a bet worth 5,500 by Steve Savio. The {3-Hearts} river completed a potential flush and both players opted to check it down.

Brandi briefly showed his cards but couldn't beat the {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for two pair by Savio.

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Steve O'Dwyer was all in for his last 12,400 from middle position and Sho Homma shoved from the small blind to isolate. The big blind got out of the way and action was heads up with O'Dwyer at risk.

Steve O'Dwyer: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Sho Homma: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

"Didn't you bust me in Prague?" O'Dwyer asked.

Homma nodded and the dealer was ready to go.

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Homma turned a pair of queens to send O'Dwyer to the rail once again.

Vedral Doubles Through Mulders

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Following a {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, David Vedral was all-in for 18,300 with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Daan Mulders looked him up holding the {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for two overcards and a flush draw. Mulders and Parker Talbot were calling for cards and joking for the conclusion of the hand but there was no help to Mulders on the {10-Diamonds} turn and {4-Spades} river.

"Stupid cards," he grinned with a smile on his face as he had to fork over half of his stack.

Oghabian Among the Next Casualties

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Down to around 15,000 in chips, Milad Oghabian put his hopes on ace-five but he had a mountain to climb. Georgios Vrakas tabled the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and remained ahead all the way on the {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, {q-Clubs} turn and {6-Spades} river.

Lampropoulos Doesn't Freeroll a Knockout

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Joyoung Jung pushed all-in for a very short stack and was called by big stack Nikolaos Lampropoulos from three seats over. Jung's {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} was up against {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and he pulled back the chips already after a {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop. The {10-Diamonds} turn was a huge sweat but the {9-Spades} river ensured a split pot.

Jung's next shove for 6,100 went through but he bowed out a couple of hands later.

Hot Diaz Cooled Down by Ahuja

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Ankit Ahuja
Ankit Ahuja

Ankit Ahuja announced a three-bet to 6,500 and then instantly called the four-bet shove by Gilbert Diaz in an early position, who got it in for around 22,000.

Gilbert Diaz: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Ankit Ahuja: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Spades} runout sent Diaz back to the registration desk and there were some raised eyebrows after the showdown. "It was bound to happen," someone remarked and Ahuja replied, "I am glad it was with me, and that no ace came."

Jonathan Fhima chimed in with "He was hot."

"If I know what I know now, I call earlier," another player remarked as they had apparently folded to previous jams by Diaz.
