Tekle Mariam Eliminated by Baumann

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Dutchman Henok Tekle Mariam jammed a short stack soon after returning from the break out of the small blind and was called by Gaelle Baumann.

Henok Tekle Mariam: {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Gaelle Baumann: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts} runout gave Baumann trips and that spelled the end for Tekle Mariam.

It's All Apples and Oranges to Vrakas

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With plenty of chips in the middle to the {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs} turn, Christophe Pommier moved all in for 40,500. Georgios Vrakas was in the tank and eventually made the call with the superior stack, investing nearly half of what he had behind.

Christophe Pommier: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Georgios Vrakas: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The {10-Clubs} river brought no flush for Vrakas and he took a major blow to his stack.

Pastore Jams Into Guichard

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

In a single-raised pot to the four-way flop of {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Paul Guichard check-raised from 2,000 to 7,000 and Jonathan Pastore was the only caller. That led them to the {8-Clubs} turn on which Guichard bet 14,000.

Pastore then jammed all in for 37,800 and Guichard tank-folded.

Assorted Counts in the Field

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Ochoa Scores Big Double K.O.

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Haci Bayram shoved 41,200 into the middle and Henrique Magalhaes tossed in his last 6,000 from the next seat over. Juan Ochoa made it 80,000 from the small blind and a player in the big blind went deep into the tank. After a few moments he got away from it and action was three ways with Bayram and Magalhaes at risk.

Henrique Magalhaes: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Haci Bayram: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Juan Ochoa: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} and the kings held to knock out both players and give Ochoa the big pot.

Yiannis Liperis
Yiannis Liperis

Yiannis Liperis raised to 2,200 from under the gun and Anthony Say in the small blind three-bet to 7,000, for Liperis to call. As soon as the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} came on the flop, Say bet 15,000.

Liperis had some 37,000 behind and reluctantly moved all-in for his opponent to call.

Yiannis Liperis: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Anthony Say: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The {3-Hearts} turn and {j-Diamonds} river brought no help to the Brit and he was sent to the rail.

Mulder Chips Up With Top Pair

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was heads up with 3,000 in the middle and {8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} on the board when Teun Mulder bet 1,000 and Rachid El Yaacoubi called from the next seat over. The turn was {a-Diamonds}.

Mulder fired 4,500 on the turn and Yaacoubi called.

The river was {8-Clubs} and Mulder put out 20,000, which was enough to cover Yaacoubi. After a few moments of thought, Yaacoubi tossed it in and turned over {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a pair of jacks. However, Mulder showed {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a turned pair of aces to take the pot and send Yaacoubi to the rail.
