Elton Ostreni made it 1,300 from the cutoff and Marco Pacini defended his big blind.
On the 10♣6♠4♠ flop, Pacini check-raised to 5,600 over a bet of 2,000. Ostreni three-bet to 17,000 and called as the bigger stack after Pacini moved all in for 33,500.
Marco Pacini: 10♥6♣
Elton Ostreni: 7♦5♦
Pacini had top two pair, but Ostreni was alive with his open-ended straight draw until Pacini filled up to seal the checkmark on the 10♠ turn. The 3♦ river gave Ostreni his straight but of course, it was no good.

Maria Konnikova opened the action with a raise to 1,100 from early position. Adriano Torregrossa, Yoan Ouache and Thierry Navarro called from the cutoff and the blinds, respectively.
Action checked to Torregrossa on the K♠10♦3♠ flop, and he fired out 2,300. Only Konnikova folded.
The 7♣ turn checked through to the K♣ river, and again action checked to Torregrossa. The Frenchman pondered his options before sliding another 7,500 into the middle. Ouache quickly called and Navarro folded.
Torregrossa had been caught bluffing as he quickly mucked his cards and Ouache flashed 9♦9♥ to take in the pot.

Gabriel Castro made it 1,700 from middle position before Damiano Zicca three-bet to 4,200 from the hijack. Top ten stack Liutauras Armanavicius called from the small blind and Castro also put in the extra chips.
Zicca continued for 6,700 on the Q♣8♥4♣ flop and only Armanavicius called. Zicca then sized down to 5,000 on the 4♠ turn, and was called by his opponent once more.
Armanavicius checked for a third time and went into the tank after Zicca put in his last 14,000 on the 10♣ river. Armanavicius mulled over his options before making a one-chip call.
Zicca tabled A♠A♣ for a pair of aces, besting Armanavicius's A♦Q♦.
Nick Palma is also at the table and has already added to his starting stack shortly after taking his seat. Can the American put in a deep run at one of his favorite stops of the year?

With roughly 9,000 in the pot, on a flop of 6♦3♣8♦, Merab Meladze shoved for 11,000 with Maria Konnikova calling to put him at risk from the button.
Merab Meladze: 9♦8♣
Maria Konnikova: 8♥8♠
Meladze needed runner-runner to stay alive. He found some help on the 10♦ turn, but the Q♥ river didn't improve his hand and Konnikova's set of eights would eliminate him from the tournament.
