PokerStars Announces Game Integrity Rule Changes at EPT Barcelona

As it celebrates 20 years of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona, PokerStars announced several rule and procedure changes to maintain game integrity, including new rules banning solvers and preflop charts for players and spectators alike.

Kenny Hallaert, a longtime tournament official who recently signed on as a PokerStars ambassador, announced the changes on social media on Monday as EPT Barcelona kicked off with the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event. They include reductions in shot clock time, new dealer guidelines and changes to the redraw process.

Fikret Kovac opened 3,500 in middle position, and Cristian Nazareno called in the cutoff before Saint Yves Braulio Bianchetti came along in the big blind.

When the Q♦8♠4♥ flop hit the felt, Bianchetti check-folded to a bet of 7,000 from Kovac, and Nazareno got out of the way as well.

In a heads-up pot on a flop of 10♣Q♠K♣, Dimitrios Anastasakis checked and Christophe Suter bet 7,500. Anastasakis called

Anastasakis checked again on the 2♣ turn and Suter checked back. Anastasakis then bet 30,000 on the J♥ river and quickly called as Suter moved all in.

Suter showed A♣A♦ for Broadway, while Anastasakis turned over A♥10♥ to chop the pot.

On a flop of 8♣9♥7♦, Darko Percic was last to act and bet 5,000 into three opponents. Robert Ashelm, in the big blind, was the only caller.

The action checked through on the 5♣ turn for the 6♥ to come on the river, making a nine-high straight on the board. Ashelm led out for 12,000, which was enough to get a fold from Percic. Ashlem showed he had the goods as he flipped over J♠10♦ for the nut straight.

Daniel Rezaei opened to 3,000 from middle position and was called by Fernando Banda in the small blind and Helge Bjorlow in the big blind.

Banda checked to Bjorlow on the Q♥4♠J♠ flop and he went all in for his remaining 5,500. Both Rezaei and Banda called.

Banda check-called a 7,500 bet from Rezaei on the A♦ turn, but check-folded after a lengthy tank facing an 11,000 bet from Rezaei on the 8♥ river.

Bjorlow turned over J♦5♣ for a flopped pair of jacks, but it was no good against Rezaei's A♣K♥ for a turned pair of aces — eliminating Bjorlow from contention.

Beck decided to jam for his remaining 51,000 and Alban tanked for around two minutes before he put in the call.

The 2♦ completed the board on the river, and Antikainen checked once more before Hadjipetrou flung 15,000 into the middle. Antikainen thought about it for a few seconds and tossed in a call to see the bad news as Hadjipetrou tabled A♣6♣ for top pair.
